Amen Sister Friend. My DD and I made a short excursion "out there" into the world today with face masks into the Summer Weather. My family is different than most. We stay close, we don't venture out, we are safer at home folk. We know it won't safe guard us with any gaurantees but we do as adults agree that our family trumps knowingly exposing us all willingly to to the virus. My kids have been blessed with employers that value their employees and they are all at home since early March with my DD likely not returning to an office setting until 2021. Both of their employers did not furlough or let go any of their employees but safeguarded their health and the health of their firms. They have yet to embrace the open it up theory over the abundance of caution. We shall see where we all are in the next month or so. Our day cares are not really open here, limited businesses are open. Low volume outside restaurants are open but are not being received well here. In my area people are not accepting the risk is gone and not gambling their families away. That may change if the numbers grow less in states and areas that opened wide and are doing physically well. We shall see.

One of my bro’s even suggested putting the kitchen where the game/bonus room is now to make the dining room much larger.

I nipped that in the bud (thanks Bernard P. Fife ), ‘cause that would take another room/flex space outta’ the house, which would be a loser for resale someday, and the dining room doesn’t need to be nearly that large.

I never really got to thank everyone who showed support for my post yesterday as I went to work right afterwards. I appreciate it.

I ended up ordering this custom mousepad today, it has pictures of the cat, Dixie and the dog before her, Pooh on the top right. I'm never getting rid of this thing ever when it comes in.

That's a lovely way to remember all the pets who have been so special to you! I'm so sorry for your loss!

I have a question. I know I don't get out much, but who the hell is Elon Musk? I know he is the producer/creator of that car (electric maybe?) I don't remember the name of it, but when in the hell did he become an expert on pretty much everything under the sun. Where did he get his money to do what he has done. Is he from the family that formulated that "scent" made for men? You know.... Musk? I look at news headlines and a few months ago I saw an article that announced the he and his wife (?) just had a baby. My thought was 'who the hell cares', but apparently people do. I probably have a touch of dementia kicking in because I am at a loss to understand anything that is happening in the world today. Help me!!! Should I be informing my children that it is getting close to the time to be finding a home for me?

The electric bill is another reason I try not to use the AC much. Our whole house is electric. 87 sounds great to me!

I moved to Cincinnati during the month of March.. I was in pants, long sleeves, and a coat every day. The people here were in shorts and tees. I used my heat at home, during nighttime only, while my neighbors had their windows open.

Anyway, that next winter, I had heat set on 80-82 every day, I like to wear shorts and tank tops in the house... I have gas heating and washer and dryer.. never had a gas bill before moving here. Received the first one that winter and hit the roof!! I was in SHOCK. Turned my heat down after that, started wearing pj pants and long sleeves instead of shorts and tanks.

I guess it isn't him so much is the fact that he seemed to just materialize from no place. It kinda spooks me. I had heard of him via Tesla but I don't think his name ever really registered with me. It seems like I read someplace that Tesla Auto was in dire straights financially, but this guy seems to have an endless supply of cash and can finance things like rocket launches, impressive as that may be, it is just a puzzle to me. I will adapt eventually as soon as some of the rest of this stuff settles down. So now instead of the Russians we are dependent on one man named Elon. Being over the barrel is still over the barrel regardless of who owns the barrel. Here a country with the resources we have now are dependent of one, not even a citizen, for our scientific accomplishments. Seems sad to me.
