We here are tired of the NJ lockdown as well. My wife is missing out on her favorite eateries in Edison NJ. We COULD do take out, but since it is an hour from our home that doesn't seem practical. Oh...longing for the old days when we can eat IN Edison. Eat at a table that is not in our dining room!😉
I'm rather enjoying it. Today I had the boys help me prep for planting next week. We're finding things to do:inlove: and James has started watching the original 72 episodes of Star Trek

Some people are better suited to adapting than others. I am doing ok because I still get to "see" my students on Zoom. I come "into" their home virtually speaking and for them it is often the highlight of their week. Every day can feel the same....but on a BAND LESSON DAY, Mr. _______ comes on the screen and smiles at them....praises them.....listens to their tales of whatever is happening in their lives....that's so rewarding! The weekends have been tedious. So many things closed. Yet life is beginning to open up gradually. We have to just hang it there as bit longer👍

Once .....maybe 6 or 7 years ago I took a solo trip on Amtrak from Metropark Station (near Newark NJ) to Washington DC. The stops I remember were Philadelphia and Baltimore. I wonder if Trenton and Wilmington DE were also on that route? Well anyway, it was enjoyable ☺
I took the Amtrak auto train from DC to FL one year. The passengers were very friendly. The train leaves at 4pm, need to get at the station by 130pm so the car can be boarded on the enclosed carrier. An Amtrak employee video tapes the entire outside of the car to notate any scratches before the car is out in the carrier. The passengers start boarding at 3pm. The train seats which recline to almost a bed are very spacious similar to business class in airplanes. You can take any food or drink on board. The private rooms cost extra which has chairs that convert to beds. The bathrooms are in the first level. The dining car is on the second level. Hot food a la carte is served and all passengers are seated with others. It makes for good conversation. There is continental breakfast served in the AM around 6am. Food is included in the price of the seat. There is a charge for the car. Off season it cost me $297 for seat and car. Other members of the family just pay for the seat which is around $100 per person. This saves 900 miles of driving or about 12 hours of driving. The train arrives at 9am in Sanford which is one hour from WDW. It takes about 60 min until your car is driven off the enclosed carrier. One nice perk is at the DC terminal one can request to have dinner and breakfast delivered to your seat if you don't want to eat at the dining car. Just tip a few dollars. The ride was enjoyable and many went to bed early. The same train leaves Sanford at 4pm and arrives in DC at 9am the next day. Wi-Fi is terrible on the train.

OK, so I was outvoted ‘cause everyone in my house wanted to watch “Titanic” on VH-1. (Yes, I coulda’ gone to watch somethin’ else in mine and DWifey’s bedroom). The part that blows my mind the most, and always has, is when the old lady chucks the multi-million dollar diamond off the back of the research boat at the end. You stupid twit, couldn’t you have donated that thing to some worthy cause instead of chuckin’ it back into the sea, you freakin’ moron...?!?!?!?!?!?!

I wanted to share some artwork E did. My niece, N, turned 7 on Thursday, and E wanted to draw her something as a gift. When we went to Disney last Summer, N chose a plush as her souvenir. It's from Stitch, the cartoon I think, and she called it curly because of the curly antennas. And N also LOVED our Stitch ponchos and we let her wear one for a while. So E drew "Curly" wearing a Stitch poncho. She drew it free hand on M's ipad with an apple pen.
