Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Nope, nope, whole lot of nopes there.

I already knew that was a thing elsewhere, but...nope. I personally will be glad if handshakes decrease or go away after this because I already didn't like them, and I will especially be happy if the practice of hugging goes away after this. I pretty much don't want to be hugged by anyone who isn't a close friend or related to me. I don't kiss anyone besides the cats (if I were to get a boyfriend, I'd make an exception there, but no one else).

I have the American need to personal space to an extreme.

Amen Sister Friend.

I always wanted to kick the poop out of 'older' men in the business world that would shake my hand while caressing my wrist with their index finger. I was about 19 the first time it happened and wasn't the last. Heebie-jeebies šŸ‘æ

Hiked 6.5 miles today. We needed this!!!
T impressed me with a some rock climbing skills.., not so much with his photo skills. T

Love the photos! My "happy place" is the outdoors -- woods, hills, mountains, valleys, etc. What a nice hike you both had, and 6.5 miles is a lot, over mixed terrain like that. You two must have slept like rocks last night! :joyfull:

So glad that you both had a fun outing, as I know you had to remain a distance for weeks from T, while you were ill.

Monday I am gonna call Royal Caribbean and cancel our cruise that was to leave Cape Liberty NJ ( to Bermuda) on July 13th.
So far we only paid the deposit. The balance is due April 14th. In the end that cruise might not ever sail....but as of now it has not yet been canceled.
We will get our deposit shifted into a new status called : FCC = Future Cruise Credit.
For fun, my wife and I looked at "Freedom of the Seas". It would be a new ship and a new itinerary. Who knows if we can afford it. Just looked at a Cruise Critic review and a Youtube video....something to dream about ...just for fun!
We ( and everyone else) have until Dec. 31, 2021 to sail. That way we don't lose our deposit money....and the $100 pp change fee is of course waived due to the Covid 19 situation.

Can you cancel in case you can't go before then? The Spanish flu lasted two or so years so you never know. I know the US is finally doing the right thing and forcing the airlines to give refunds like they do in Europe.

It's not that I disagree with forced refunding, it's just that there are no free rides, anywhere! If some of the airlines in Europe are operated by the government then it will automatically cost everyone more because the public, in general will have to pay for the losses. We have to think ahead to what happens after "19". We are going to need all the stuff that we are forcing into bankruptcy now. The Virus will end long before the effects inflicted by it. This is all new territory for all of us. That last biggy was in 1918... no airlines or mass transit to worry about. How this will effect those things that are vital to our growth will be up for quite a challenge before to long. I don't know as we have a lot of choice in what is happening, but we really should think ahead. Instead of refunding, why not just extend the time to use the prepaid tickets. We will want to use this stuff later unless we are all dead, in which case I would think we should be partying right now instead of panicking.

My 5 year old granddaughter was crushed because real eggs could not be found in the stores to color for Easter. She kept say mom the Easter bunny won't come to our house. My daughter in law told here we will make Easter cup cakes and convinced the 5 year old the Easter bunny would hide them. All was well with the world. Looking forward to pictures today of the cup cake hunt

One of Tā€™s friends (and friendā€™s sibling) have walking sticks, they go hiking often. T has been asking for one and I said ā€œnoā€. Well, yesterday while hiking, he said ā€œMom, Iā€™m really glad you didnā€™t buy a walking stick for me. We wouldnā€™t have been able to climb the rocks.ā€ ā€œYes, kiddo. Sometimes your mom is right.ā€ šŸ˜‚

T likes to go off the main trails, as do I. He wanted to find every source of where the water was coming from on almost every stream. Many paths were over wet rocks or sometimes climbing up a rock wall (such as the 1st pic I posted), and other times he wanted to climb down to the river in certain areas. I donā€™t know what people do with a walking stick when doing those things, thereā€™s no way I would have been able to climb and hold the stick.

My favorite moment yesterday was wading through trees and moss covered logs, not on a trail at all, and we came upon a beautiful waterfall. We both climbed up on a rock and just sat there for a few minutes, lightly being sprayed by the water. It was a moment that Iā€™ll definitely cherish.
