I hate when men try to man'splain to women

That is the LINE that my DDs 7th grade Spanish teacher tried. Such a pig. He kept inappropriately caressing my DD and other 7th grade girls as he would walk past their desks. Put his fingers through their hair, brush the palm of his hand over the side of their face, need to touch them when he spoke to them.

My DD final came home and told me. Principal, me and creepy dude in Principals office. The Spanish teacher didn't deny touching her on many occasions but tried to dismiss my concerns by saying my DD and I just didn't understand the culture of his country (in south america) The Principal was as outraged at the line as I was and flew out his chair looked at the creep and in a raised voice said oh no, were done! He asked me if I would trust him to handle this complaint and I did and left.
That was definitely perversion, not mansplaining.

Mansplaining was when an older guy at my old job tried to tell me I didn't actually like cats, just my own. Pretty sure I like all cats, dude...

Or the many, many times in my academic career stupid guys have tried to explain things to me...only to discover I was right all along

No, that guy was just a pervert. I had a professor in college who was from Spain and I can't in a million years envision him trying that line on anyone.

It is my Birthday and all the restaurants are closed. So my kids ordered me one of my favorites for later tonight. Maggiano's has curbside order pickup. So it will be salad, Spaghetti with meat sauce along with a meatball. 'Slurp' Illinois relaxed some liquor laws and you can also order beer and wine with your take out curbside orders.

And oh yes, they ordered Salad too.

Happy Birthday! Great choice of a birthday meal. I love spaghetti!

My dad and I just had an argument about whether vegetables belong in lasagna or not.

I think we've either run out of things to argue about or proved we can argue about literally anything.

That easy, vegetables don't really belong. Onions are acceptable if they are in the sauce. Spinach is kind of acceptable but otherwise it should be cheese and maybe some sausage or hamburger.

Vegetables do not belong in lasagna under any circumstances. A proper lasagna is meat, cheese, pasta and red sauce. That's why you eat salad with it.

But no. The man wanted to ruin the lovely lasagna my mom spent time making with vegetables.

I'm thinking we need to have him psychologically evaluated.

True, we all have food laws in our own homes, and they’re all legit there.

When is season 2 coming out? Did they start filming prior to coronavirus?
December probably. I'm not sure whether filming completed or not, but given that they hadn't planned on releasing until December, they have plenty of time.

I'm basically Garfield when it comes to lasagna. Actually, I'm basically Garfield in general...

Thought I was gonna’ wrap up work about 5p today, but, the partner had about 2 hours worth of last minute tweaks. He’s meeting the clients out on their site over the weekend...open air and social distancing.
Ended up wrappin’ up a little after 7p, and sent him all the PDFs.
Got an email about 5 mins. later that said... “Awesome! Thanks so much, and have a great weekend!”
Geeeeeeerate way to go into the 3-day weekend, and a malted adult beverage(s) ;) is now being enjoyed...!!!!! :hungry::)

Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
I saw a post earlier on this thread that about 5G and I didn't bookmark it (not going back to look for it either to quote it) But this a good article if you want to consider both points of view. Full disclosure, I didn't buy into the theory that my smart phone was going to cause cancer. I didn't take the advice and chose not to throw it away as the alarms were sounded how deadly they were, so there is that.

This story has been unearthed again. It faded away and for whatever reason it hit some news cycles again.

The truth behind the toilet paper shortage -- a few reasons.

We were discussing this article in the Lounge this week. It is very enlightening.

And on a similar note our garbage trucks and workers are overwhelmed for the same reason. The humans are no longer where they were a month ago. Shopping Centers, Business Districts, restaurants, sports stadiums, schools are for the most part absent of the humans where they were only a short while ago. A large percentage of the humans have relocated to their homes due to unemployment rising at unprecedented levels, working from home or confined due to the Virus. This has now left the commercial dumpsters for the most part pretty empty and yet humans being homebodies at this time are increasing the volume of garbage in residential trash can. The trucks and employees that service the more commercial buildings can't pick up residential garbage as they almost utilize some type of dumpster, big or smaller. Residential trucks use more of a claw to grasp can/containers. Making their scheduling even more difficult is the volume of both trash and recycling weekly in residential areas every residential area needs more truck/runs per day due to the unexpected increase to homes.

At my condo I have seen the increase. Every unit is now working from home. The trash barely has space for the week. Recyling is crazy as residents like me are now here all the time. All of us in the building are 'ordering' what we need to. Amazon, UPS and FedEx are here many times a day each. At least once an hour during the day someone goes downstairs to the front of the building and collects the parcels from the vestibule and deliver them to each others front doors and repeat 7 days a week.

Tomorrow is another change for me. This building is over a 100 years old, likely has lead master pipes just from what I can seen down in the dungeon. Have a water cooler/heater and I purchased 4 gallon refill bottles for the water cooler. Sam's stopped selling those jugs around the Holidays but still had the more expensive Name Brand but 5 gallon version-heavy. Then Sam's for the last 3 weeks has not had them in stock. So tomorrow starts delivery from Hinkley & Schmidt. So the water in my case is not hording but Sheltering has just increased what I now use in high volume per week and inability to buy new cooler water from Sam's.

The diagnosis is that your father has too-long, stay-at-home, carona virus psychosis. This is a temporary insanity that will self-correct, once the restrictions are lifted.

Oh, I have an update. The other day, I mentioned that the city mayor had ordered blocking off parking, on some streets adjoining the nature area. Of course, overflow parkers hit the side streets, which didn't go over well with the residents there.

Due to a hissy by those residents with the genius at the local city hall, they lifted the parking ban yesterday! So now the great unwashed public can go back to parking where they used to. :p :hilarious:

Next.

So I tried getting face masks, hand sanitizer and gloves yesterday. Gloves won't come until May (which is why I didn't buy in the first place before) , hand sanitizer (haven't been able to find since end of Feb. I did end up buying a spray one that is back ordered even though I don't like spray. It was for a reasonable price) and face masks (all that's left is people trying to price gouge you).

:rolleyes::rolleyes:
