gasp... even I the almost 50 year old has a tiktok account! I don't make tiktoks, but I watch others.... it's addicting sometimes... I like to watch other people do these crazy dances... or the stories that one particular tow truck driver tells... etc. I have 2 videos on my own, and both are of my niece trying to do the dances I like to watch.
I don't even know what TikTok is... something about videos? Idk. 😂

I knew when teenagers started doing stuff on the internet and I didn't get the point that I was getting up there...

We watch Derek Hough’s almost daily.
I love Donnie Wahlberg’s videos too.

The hilarious part was we redid my bathroom, and my dad, when we put stuff back in my closet, said, "Why did you have to buy all this hand sanitizer?"

A couple of weeks later, he was like, "I'd like to thank you for buying all that hand sanitizer." 😂

Some of it we did give away. I think I had about four giant bottles of it; we had a few people who needed it bring smaller bottles for us to fill, plus my dad took some to work (he's a lawyer; he's intermittently going into his office as needed). We still have plenty.

I definitely have the hoarding/bulk buying gene. It's amazing I wasn't part of the crazed toilet paper crowd.
great minds think alike.

The truth behind the toilet paper shortage -- a few reasons.

fascinating story.
No surprise a few friends ended actually buying these industrial-like oversized business rolls with no issue.

My son in high school took a class trip to France, Spain, German. He said he would never go back to Paris again the people he said were nasty and rude and made derogatory comments knowing they were Americans. Is this typical Paris behavior or is it typical of the French in general?
I went to Paris just 4 years ago and everyone was pleasant, helpful and nice. I wouldn't be surprised that high schooler's in Paris are looked upon with as much love and respect as we give the Brazilians. There usually is a reason when people react badly. If Americans get less then a wonderful reception now it wouldn't surprise me at all.

I've never been to France...I've met French tourists in WDW. They've always been rude, though nowhere near the level of the Brazilians. The male French CMs are flirty. The female CMs are always polite, though. I guess because they're basically living here?

My mom went to France as a teenager and said as long as they made attempts to speak French the French were overall polite. They had a Canadian with then who spoke French, and they encountered one rude French person. The Canadian put that person in their place. She and I want to go to France someday.
Americans are so sensitive. They don't understand other cultures, make no attempt to even try. They just expect everyone to cater to us like we are some type of royalty. Most make no attempt to even try and learn basic French words like bonjour, merci or si vous plait. But we do expect them to be fluent in English. In the process of trying to communicate everyone tends to be a little curt because they are trying to use as few words as possible. We, in this culture, don't even know what rude is and just think that it is anytime someone disagrees or says no. Or heaven forbid don't show us the kind of respect we think we deserve. We are not universally liked as much as some think. To them we are loud, demanding and obnoxious.

That's what my mom said about going to France. She'd taken French for a few years, but wasn't fluent. She said as long as you walked into a shop, politely said "How are you?" etc, and then asked if the person spoke English, they were usually willing to help.

I do get it, though because I've never travelled internationally; I'm the one in WDW constantly dealing with international tourists. I've had Spanish speakers in WDW walk up to me and ask me stuff in Spanish. Now I do speak Spanish, but frankly, we're in the US. I expect them to at least try some English, and because I speak Spanish, I'm happy to switch over. If you ask. But not before. Oh, and the Brazilians. Oh Lord...So I do get where Europeans are coming from.

Although quite frankly, the French here, when I've encountered them in WDW, are rude. And I'm sorry, when you're in the US, you adhere to US norms. Though sometimes I'm not even sure they're aware that they're rude. Minus the CMs; they're obviously never rude.

It is my Birthday and all the restaurants are closed. So my kids ordered me one of my favorites for later tonight. Maggiano's has curbside order pickup. So it will be salad, Spaghetti with meat sauce along with a meatball. 'Slurp' Illinois relaxed some liquor laws and you can also order beer and wine with your take out curbside orders.

And oh yes, they ordered Salad too.

I hate when men try to man'splain to women

That is the LINE that my DDs 7th grade Spanish teacher tried. Such a pig. He kept inappropriately caressing my DD and other 7th grade girls as he would walk past their desks. Put his fingers through their hair, brush the palm of his hand over the side of their face, need to touch them when he spoke to them.

My DD final came home and told me. Principal, me and creepy dude in Principals office. The Spanish teacher didn't deny touching her on many occasions but tried to dismiss my concerns by saying my DD and I just didn't understand the culture of his country (in south america) The Principal was as outraged at the line as I was and flew out his chair looked at the creep and in a raised voice said oh no, were done! He asked me if I would trust him to handle this complaint and I did and left.
