I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm thinking I'm going to cancel Disneyland this year. There's too much uncertainty around the coronavirus. I'm thinking I might just fly straight out to Hawaii and go there for a second year instead, and then maybe go to Disneyland next year. Aulani and everything in Hawaii seems to be staying open, but California is in really bad shape. Plus I found a flight out there for less than what I paid last year.

I don't know, I'll talk to my dad tonight and my boss to see what he says.
Depending on when your trip is, keep in mind that the virus is present in Hawaii and hasn't really started it's spread there yet. Things in California will open when they start to get to the backside of that curve. So Hawaii might not be at a place where they're closing everything yet

That's a valid concern. Which month were you planning on going? Just curious. Either way I'm sure it will be a good choice for you.

I'd purchase trip insurance just in case and I can keep my Southwest flight and hotel until the last minute since it's on points and not booked on dollars. But basically I can get everything back.

But the other thing is Hawaii is an island and can keep everything out much more easily. California is getting hit pretty hard.

Ugh. My long time bestie and her fiance are in Chicago. He works at a grocery store (he'd doing it temporarily), so they'll have some income.

What a sucky, sucky situation.

Nobody here really knows the extent of it. My friend is in charge of all nursing at a large hospital here. No test kits so guessing. I just saw the governor of MN say the same thing a short while ago. It is sucidoodles. I believe press conferences are good but I think briefer would be better. Spit out what is new or changing today. Hours each day and too much is repeat, rinse, repeat. 6 people speaking and all saying the same thing often day after day is a waste of time that could be put to better use. I do want to hear the changes and updates it is all the filler representing what has already been announced, Oy.

What about seniors? Would they automatically graduate them? What about grades for transcripts?

Standardized testing for 2020 has been cancelled countrywide.

Yes. grades and transcripts can wait, the Universities themselves have already punted themselves. They have cancelled Grad Ceremonies and my gut says this will trickle on down to High School, proms etc and 8th grade graduations around here.

It is only my gut and watching my former board members dance, I know them, I can read them. If and when it happens I would hope it would be through the State(s) board of education so they are all on the same page.

Just seeing the entire country getting worse, supplies not available, businesses ordered to close doors, 3 phases of bail out from Government I don't see strides of children being brought back to school. As I think about it I hope the parks and pools open this summer or @figmentfan423 will go crazy.

Oh my. I use the drive-thru for everything I can...bank, fast food, Walgreens pharmacy, etc.
BTW...you can say hi from the drive-thru...! ;)

That's an idea! I could drive by the drive-through window, and display a big paper sign that says, "Hi". :joyfull:

P.S.: What really concerns me about these temporary bank lobby closures, is that if the bank management think that it worked well, then they might get the notion to actually shut down some branch offices, once everything gets back to normal. :( I don't want to talk through some big glass window to the tellers. They're so nice, and they have free coffee and lollipops inside the bank for the customers ( well . . . up until the lobby closure yesterday, that is). :(

I don't like the cheap waxy stuff either. Hubs went to pick up a prescription at Walgreens today and came home with some Reeses chocolate peanut butter eggs. :)

I like those seasonal Cadbury Easter egg filled candies. :hungry:

Speaking of good junk to eat, I've been picking up more impulse buy sweet treats at the store -- brownies, breakfast pastry, candy, chips and cookies. I think it's filling a void because of all the usual things I'm doing during the week -- all cancelled, just like everyone else's. Might as well eat. :hilarious:
