Our governor was asked why he was taking the actions he was taking, specifically closing restaurants and bars, and he basically said because the government asked people not to crowd and they did it anyway, so they made it an executive order. I had to laugh because you could tell by the expression on his face that he was restraining himself from saying what he was really thinking.

I'm supposed to go to my allergist in a few weeks, but given that this is a respiratory illness, I'm a bit nervous to since someone could go in the office thinking that they're having asthma symptoms and it could really be the stupid virus. I might call them and be like, "I'm healthy, just let me come in when we're not at the peak of all of this." And I'm a doubly whammy of high risk because of the asthma and that other thing I had last year.

I also was supposed to have blood work done and I haven't bothered doing that either, and I'm just hoping my endo's office doesn't notice...we were close with the last results, so I think staying where I am is better than going and risking it at this point.
My DD cancelled a dental cleaning. Me I cancelled a hair cut because ewe ewe ewe

Yes, in your case, best to call and ask them for their guidance. Plus the situation with this virus is so fluid (changes multiple times every day from what I hear), that it's a good idea to check in on the phone with them first. Take care of yourself.

People are stupid but in fairness the young haven’t seen anything like this before.

Some took to heart authorities telling them it was still no big deal Some even told them some go to work and they are OK. We taught the youth mixed messages about it being like a cold or flu. Words matter. Some young adults live on blind faith and if told its OK of course they’ll go on their planned vacation.

My generation and my Moms generation should have had the maturity and a tad more wisdom. I cut the youth some slack. I don’t condone it but I understand why some believed it was OK to go on vacation a week ago Cause Words Matter.

This does not surprise me. I read about what the college students did on the beach in Florida this morning. I read a statement by one of those idiots on the beach saying they don't care if they get the coronavirus or not because they want to go to the beach and party:mad::banghead:.

As far as the Booze cruise, those people should forced to be quarantine. As far as College students on Florida beaches, they should be forced to stay in Florida and be quarantined also. Don't get me started on the elected officials in Florida that allowed the beaches to be opened.

It came out that a 34 year man in California died of Cornavirus. That person was a at risk person. The person had a history of asthma and frequent bronchitis back when he a child besides beating testicular cancer in 2016.

I brought that up because those college party goers on that cruise or the beaches are capable of giving the Coronavirus to people that are capable of getting that disease due to their irresponsible behavior.

Chicago public schools closure extended to April 21st. I’m in a different county however me I anticipate our schools reopening in Fall.

And the Adults in the World showcase this weekend did the same thing only on concrete and around little children. Stupid has no generational boundaries.

I'm saying this as an at risk person....college kids are like one step up from teens. They're heavily influenced by the adults around them, and they can also be very headstrong. I can't really blame the kids for not grasping the severity of the situation. I think back to where I was maturity wise before I entered the workforce. There's a real difference. My one friend, who is five weeks older than me but took longer to finish college because she switched majors three times, I sometimes notice lacks maturity in some areas and I'm like, "Oh, honey, go out into the real world and you'll get sense knocked into ya real fast." And for others, they're just scared out of their minds because for a lot of them, this is the first major crisis of their lives. On a world scale, most of them don't remember 9/11 or major, life shifting world events, so they're not quite sure how to handle this one.

The older adults crowding bars and pubs over the weekend really ought to have known better, though. I've heard so many older adults grouse about how this virus isn't that serious. Well, yes, it's serious. And we need to prevent the amount of deaths they've seen elsewhere. Italy has not had more deaths than in China. I personally would like to avoid that situation here.

I understand... but hopefully the kids don't know that, and they can do work while they are off and not just laze around playing video games all day.

Unfortunately I think our principal put it out that this will be enrichment for students and families to do until we either resume school or have a decision about virtual school. So I predict about 45-50% of the kids will do the work.

I did hear from one kid today and he is setting up a Family Olympics at home for his family with games, puzzles and challenges for the whole family to do. Sounds like a fun idea.
