There’s not too many to choose from for what I’m looking for..not with a kid. The one I booked last year checks every single box...but is a 15 minutes walk from room to beach, which I just don’t think makes sense for us. So I think the 2 above are our best bet if we choose the all inclusive over a cruise.

Oh I should add that both resorts are within a similar range price wise.

Club Med Punta Cana would be perfect, but out of my budget range.
I would do number 2. I agree about the decor, but maybe it looks better in person. You are going for experience first and foremost. I think you and T would have a better time at number 2.

That's a tough choice. The shared golf lesson, grounds to explore, sounding a bit kid friendlier and a few other items puts #2 just a smidge ahead in my book. Ratings give a general feel for a resort but never tell the whole story. Pics can also never tell the entire story either. Lighting can make a huge difference

Thanks for your input!

I called the resort to get confirmation of the two bathrooms. It does have them. Room is 1656 sq fr. Balcony has a table chairs, lounge chairs and jacuzzi. T would have to sleep on a pullout sofa bed in the living room, there’s only a king bed in the bedroom, but the reviews report the sofa beds are comfortable.
That plus the 24 hour room service and Butler/concierge make this is no brainer now.

The other resort looks gorgeous.. but I’m sorry, I’m not trying to sound high maintenance, but at large resorts I really love having a butler and concierge. It saves so much time and hassle (places like concierge at Disney are a waste, for me, same with many smaller hotels, but somewhere like this isn’t) . I also think we’ll eat breakfast and late night snacks in the room and/or balcony often.

I’m going to present him with this info, and the cruise info/itinerary, and ask which he would prefer. The resort does have ping pong tables (one of the things he still talks about on the cruise lol).. so that might help.
I just want something where we can have a lot of fun AND relax. The resort is not as compact as a cruise ship, but I think we can achieve both there as well... I really want him to experience the DR and love it as much as I do... this time actually making it there and no craziness happening a few weeks before our trip!🤞

Oh, I should also present the excursions we’d be doing. They’re similar to cruise excursions.. that should help too.

Oh, (somewhat unrelated) but since we're talking about cars --

There was a news story this morning about some teens who decided to steal two, new Lamborghini's from a dealership in my state. Around 3 AM this morning, they broke into the showroom and drove off in two of them. Because the morons couldn't drive, the car in the back rear-ended the one in the front at an intersection stop. Cops caught 3 of them, but a 4th idiot is still at large. So there you have it -- two Lambos in a crash. Dealer's sticker price on EACH car: $200,000!

No matter what other insurance was in effect, besides the jail/Juvie time they deserve, they should hafta’ pay that all off to the tune of sticker price (no haggling in this case ;)), plus TT&L, no matter how long it takes. But, these days, most likely mommy and daddy will probably bail ‘em out, ‘cause they f’d their spoiled rotten brats up in the first place.
Friggin’ pigs.
