My wife and I are having a Valentine's Day dinner....deliciousView attachment 448964View attachment 448964
My parents their Valentines dinner with reservations till tonight. The reason is the place my parents go to for Valentines day and their anniversary has fish frys on Friday. Fish Frys are a big deal in Wisconsin and my dad is allergic to fish. His concern is what his food will be cooked in.

I was told my dad made my mom breakfast though for Valentines day and did give each other gifts.

Hey @Artemus , This afternoon my wife and I are going to travel to a chain grocery store named LIDL. It is similar to ALDI. Do you and your wife ever use either of those stores? Anyone else can answer as well. I hope everyone has a nice weekend!:)
Lidl is like Aldi I’ve heard. I’ve only been to Lidl. We have to go about an hour out to get there so once in a blue moon is all we get there. The salmon is what I usually buy.
Have fun!

For us it is 25 minutes to get there....but Mrs. Steve feels that almost every item we buy at Lidl costs less than the supermarkets in our town. So if she gets 25 to 30 items...then the savings are big!

Just came from Sonic movie.

Score: 8
Lower than Pokemon Detective Pikachu.
Still better than Alvin and the Chipmunks and HOP movies.
Funny thing is, It's the same main actor as the HOP movie... except this time he acted well and not that forced.
The bad? all 4 movies (alvin and the chipmunks, hop, detective pikachu and Sonic) have the same style of scene where the "friend" human.. meets the special character.

The Good:
The real effects looks amazing and believable. Robotnic's stuff felt real.
Jim Carrey was superb as as Robotnic. The movie displayed very well his fall to full blown insanity that mirrors the games.
There are a lot of eastern eggs, some absolutely adorable (like the finale with the racing car bed). A big hint to the sonic archie comics.
They sneaked quiet a bit of adult jokes to entertain the adults. And I was definitively laughing at what they managed to insert in. Reminds me of old Animaniacs levels of sneaky.
Theres a crapload of high profile actors in this movie, even for cameons and background "ins".

The Bad:
Sonic looked very weird with the super realistic effects surrounding him and he completely cartoony. It felt like a weird combo of Detective Pikachu and Alvin and the Chipmunks.
The darn fart jokes.

The awful:
The movie starts VERY CUTE then goes unreasonably sad.. no seriously.. guys!
The darn dub was pretty bad. The voices sound nothing like the US versions and the actor who did Sonic changes between adult sounding to super young at random times.

The best:
Jim Carrey doing the hilarious japanese robotnic parody dance (it was a meme video made by a guy dressed as robotnic and dancing hilariously infront of random people around chinatown)
There is an actor who plays "The Major" as a soldier in this movie, He gets ridiculed by Robotnic about things that need to be secret and stuff. Why I mention this? Because this actor portrays a Major General in Project Blue book, and he is the biggest liar in the series about aliens. And he's absolutely BRUTAL in the series. :hilarious:
Sonic getting his special shoes by the main character's wife's sister's daughter.

The ultra spoilerific:
Tails was adorable in the after credits scene!

T’s Saturday league team only had 6 kids show up today.. so they played 6v7 no subs obviously. T got a hat trick (3 rd consecutive weekend doing so).. but then you could tell he was out of it on the last 5-6minutes of the game. Up until that point he was on fire. Sometimes he has a problem pushing thru when something hurts. It was FREEZING there.. the weird thing is his face was bright red and he was sweating, but he kept holding his ears. Two or 3 times he didn’t move fast enough to beat a defender or get into space... one time a kid made a gorgeous pass to him, and T totally whiffed because he had been holding his ear a second before.

After the game he complained that his ears hurt really bad and he just couldn’t ignore it any longer. I don’t know if he was just being weak minded, or if I need to have it checked out. They’re fine now. This is the same kid who says he’s a ‘tough man’ and jumping on a trampoline in freezing temps and no shoes, doesn’t bother him. 🙄

I’ll give it a day and see if he complains of an earache again.. but does this sound strange to anyone else?

Fingertips, toes, nose, and ears are all subject to frostbite. T may not have had frostbite yet on his ears, but he was heading there, due to the freezing temps outside.

You mentioned he was fine once he came back in, so I think it was just the exposure and not anything wrong with his ears. Curious: do any of the kids wear head bands, hats or earmuffs in colder temps outdoors?

The meeting with 5 members of the remediation team yesterday went well.
Mom and pops home will be rebuilt as is...no floor plan design changes, as that will be left for a future generation to decide.
Mom told me today when we went to visit them for a bit, that after we all left yesterday, the nice lady from the remediation team told my folks that in all her years in the business she has never seen/worked with a family as amazing as ours. She was totally in awe...!!!!!
Definitely not the kind of adventure any of us wanted to experience, but, we’ll all get through this together, just like everything else...!!!!! :inlove:
