It is disappointing to hear so many adults state St Valentines Day is a made up Holiday
Demonstrates how many people slept through History classes.
I think a lot of people know that St. Valentine is an actual part of history, but Valentine’s people seems fake too me because of how blown out of proportion it has become. Actually most holidays have become too big, just look at Christmas.

Wife and I went out for Valentines Day to the local seafood restaurant (T W Grahams) here in town they get most of their seafood off the boats here in town. Wife had corn chowder and blackened shrimp and a glass of wine I had fried calamari (appetizer) --entree, fried scallops and oysters, french fries and fried okra (one of my favorites). Got there early and seated right away by the time we finished there was a long line waiting to get in. I remember T W Grahams used to be old time country grocery store and when Bob Graham died it was sold and turned into a restaurant in the late 80's

If for no other reason, Valentine's day is something for couples to look forward too, especially by mid-February.

T’s Saturday league team only had 6 kids show up today.. so they played 6v7 no subs obviously. T got a hat trick (3 rd consecutive weekend doing so).. but then you could tell he was out of it on the last 5-6minutes of the game. Up until that point he was on fire. Sometimes he has a problem pushing thru when something hurts. It was FREEZING there.. the weird thing is his face was bright red and he was sweating, but he kept holding his ears. Two or 3 times he didn’t move fast enough to beat a defender or get into space... one time a kid made a gorgeous pass to him, and T totally whiffed because he had been holding his ear a second before.
After the game he complained that his ears hurt really bad and he just couldn’t ignore it any longer. I don’t know if he was just being weak minded, or if I need to have it checked out. They’re fine now. This is the same kid who says he’s a ‘tough man’ and jumping on a trampoline in freezing temps and no shoes, doesn’t bother him.
I’ll give it a day and see if he complains of an earache again.. but does this sound strange to anyone else?

pretty sure they mean in the way that valentines is now a purely commercial holiday and has little value for what it was.It is disappointing to hear so many adults state St Valentines Day is a made up Holiday

Just like in the west, christmas is just a gigantically long shopping spree that last more than a month.
