A stomach bug hit my kids like someone knocked over a domino. Youngest had thrown up between Sunday and Monday. She was ok yesterday. I fell asleep early last night, then was told by dh that dd-12 threw up and while she was heaving in the toilet ds threw up in the sink. Then not long afterwards oldest threw up. I apparently missed all the drama. I am hoping it is just a 24 hour bug. I just got over strep so I for sure don’t need a stomach bug.

Many of our kids have been sick with this too, hope yours feel better soon.

Hope you don't catch it! Lots of hand washing, and maybe bring some Lysol wipes with you for door handles, etc., in the school.
I just wiped down all the doorknobs with alcohol. I lysoled all the remotes and computer keyboards and everyone is in their rooms. Since youngest had it Monday, I assume she is ok now and maybe brought it home from someone who had it at the gym.

Hasn’t gotten me...yet. I wash my hand frequently at work and wipe stuff down a lot.

Is it the 24 hour kind?

it really started hitting them Monday, hope it is just a 24 hour thing. I guess we will see today.

With respect to weddings and the cost I am so glad I had three boys --2 married and number 3 son with a great girl friend who I think (fingers crossed) he will make it permanent . The last girlfriend screwed him over so bad so he is little gun shy.
That's so true. I had two girls, but I had no problem saying things like... ("Are you out of your flippin mind?") Whenever either one came up with a foolish notion. Fortunately, they didn't make it necessary since both wanted simple, small weddings. (Love those girls)

This morning I got a preview of what my morning schedule will be when my daughter is away in college. Today and tomorrow Dd's High School is having Final Exams for the four courses she took 1st semester. Since she has high grades in all 4 of them...she's exempt from all 4 Finals and can she stay home and sleep! ;)
So I tell you that to set up my point:
Today I did not have to get up at 5:30am to wake up DD and eventually leave the house at 6:40am to take her to school.
Instead I set my alarm last night to wake me up this morning at 6:45am.
Wow! That felt great! Next school year I will regularly get up 75 minutes later than I did during my DD's H.S. years :)

If I had to guess, these weddings on the show are a minimum of $100k. They even had a private showing of Happily Ever After for one couple and I'm pretty sure I read on here that one showing of HEA is over $20k. I mean, to each their own and these weddings are truly beautiful. But if A ends up wanting anything like that, she better find the money herself :hilarious: :hilarious:

Son #1 married a girl who's parents are well off but practical the wedding I am guessing was in the 30K range (yikes) Son #2 married an only child so her parents went all out I'm guessing in the same range maybe more. When wife and I got married she made her own dress (was still sewing it the night before) and we had a wedding that probably didn't cost more than (reception) $1500 maybe 20 people family and a few friends. Times have changed---- have always thought if your going to spend that kind of money for a big wedding give me the cash for a down payment on a house. Then again I have always been practical--- wife says cheap I say frugal

Nope. Not in my opinion. The YOUTH basketball game to which he was to coach his daughter trump'd safety. Willing to hoover 12 minute to get a special clearance. Yep he got it and chose to take it. Had 12 minutes to gamble if his life and all those aboard were worth the gamble when he could see out the window what law enforcement could also see when they grounded their helicopters. He chose basketball. Tunnel vision.

This is man that was by all rights likely the most amazing athlete in basketball history. and I come from Michael Jordan land, Kobe was that much better professionally. His drive in life.

He created this club to advance children. He coached this club. He coached his daughter. The game became more important than weather which I cannot grasp but many understand and make excuses for. I get fandom. While common people might yield to weather others might agree and make the 'other choice.' That breaks my heart. He had 12 minutes to consider the safety of his daughter and the other passengers as they requested a special clearance. Looking from the window he had to see that he couldn't see so how could the pilot? He had to see zero viability. They all lost as did their surviving families. It doesn't take away from his professional career but it does add into his life choices that were highly questionable throughout his adult life with his Mom and Dad, his siblings and least not his very public infidelity with his wife. His professional judgement on the court was awesome, the balance is subjective on so many different levels. He will go down in history as the most most awesome professional basketball player which I agree. Me I question his legacy as a protective parent or faithful husband. Both very different definitions.
Your first hand knowledge of the conversations that took place and the decisions that were made (and who made them) in that helicopter is impressive. The NTSB hasn’t even figured it all out yet but YOU know who made what decision and why. That there is quite a gift.
