OK I know I am dating myself but most here know I'm way over the hill. Does any one remember when Campbells made ketchup that's all we ever had in the house growing up. My father would eat no other.I think they stopped making it for some reason in the 80's

I don't remember campbell's but my stepmom bought Del Monte ... my brother now calls it "poor people ketchup" My mom looked at him like he had 2 heads... we weren't ever poor! That's just what her mom bought, so that's what she bought.

I hate all the drug company commercials. I find them unnecessary. Popping pills has become a cure-all for everything it seems. It is more of a cure-all for their stock number, but I digress. It is especially difficult when a movie for a family is on and then their is a commercial for a pill that discusses what happens in a bedroom. I really don't need my wide eyed 9 year old watching that. Really happy for the Disney plus in that regard.

I definitely get where you’re comin’ from, but, I just tend to try and find the humor in ‘em.
The other line in those commercials that tends to make me chuckle is... “Don’t take *blank* if you’re allergic to *blank*” ...well, duh, but, how are ya’ gonna’ know if you’re allergic to *blank* until ya’ take it...?!!!!! :cyclops:
And, most of the time, the side effects seem to be twice as bad as the affliction there supposed to be treatin’...!!!!!
Tends to remind of the ol’ SNL “Happy Fun Ball” advert skit...!!!!! :hilarious:

For me, its 8 days before big Christmas Eve night meal.

The Christmas Eve night meal has Cheese and Sausage, ritz crackers, Vegetable platter,Swedish Meatballs, Shrimp Ring, Crescent rolls with Cheese and pepperoni inside crescent roll, 8 different types of cookies, mini cream puffs, mini eclairs, and these two:

I had tickets to the Thursday AMC Fan Event. Sold them to a coworker and now we’re going Friday instead. My tickets were for 9:30, kiddo has school the next day.. I changed my mind and decided to switch, hopefully no one at school has seen it, and/or doesn’t give spoilers!
I thought the same thing with B. Not that I think they're doing anything important since it's the last day before winter break, but he does need to be up and going. It's going to be a bit rough since we're leaving early the next morning for SC. But whatever; we can sleep in the car.

Enjoy your trip. We are home for the holidays but really dream of warmth. Envoy. Kinda need to spend Christmas with my Mom as she is becoming more flakey and having a start up of quirky health issues. Ya just never know. Family has days to burn and roll forward but with ten trips this year we can get over it. A record for us not likely to repeat. Blessed. So we’ll get over it but not the cold and snow. Have a great trip.

I love laid back events like this. I’m so not a China and Crystal person.

I agree with everything you said. I always thought the allergy thing was idiotic, and yes the “cure” is worse than the affliction for sure.

I just had some silly deja vu (only vaguely related to the above).

Don't know how this all got started, but one of my 2 brothers used to call any food item, that wasn't a name brand, "bo bo". It was his way of calling out my mother for (heaven forbid) saving a little money on buying generic, store brands. At about the age of 8, he really felt quite entitled, and he was insulted that she'd stoop to this level. :hilarious:

So we had "bo bo" cookies, soda, butter, cheese, bread, paper towels, etc. :p Anyway, my father made him stop using that term in front of my mother, but he'd still mumble it under his breath to us kids -- "I hate bo bo cookies!" :joyfull:
