I am an expert reverse parking parker. It does help that I have a camera in my car. ;)
I was just talking about that with my Son in Law yesterday. What a much needed and useful invention. As a professional driver I have driven many miles and handled many large vehicles around and through some pretty tight situation. Backing is still one of my specialties and that camera has helped in so many ways. Now that I drive much smaller vehicles I find myself surrounded by mountainous SUV's that make trying to back out of a diagonal parking place a real dangerous challenge. The camera with it's peripheral lens helps to see around those tanks. Also enables you to back up and stop just before a wall or another vehicle with it's distance indicator. I still use my side mirrors to really know where I am on the sides when backing into my garage and other places. Now I'm lost without it after half a century of doing without.

It is defensive driving all the time!
It's always defensive driving no matter where, it is just a little more intense in certain places. The old pre-big dig in Boston comes to mind right away. Montreal can be a real challenge as well, in fact all of Cananada, eh! However, the absolute worst I found was driving through Saigon. (Ho Chi Minh City, to all you youngsters) That was a nightmare even if just looking at from the driving, motorbikes and pedestrian standpoint, never mind the war going on nearby.

I learned to drive in NYC. I needed to be an expert parallel parker. Had to squeeze my car in many a tight space. Luckily I had a small car.

This is why I don't drive in cities that don't have multiple open parking lots, etc. I'm scared to parallel park with impatient drivers behind me, while I attempt to back into a space. Nope. Not happening for me!!! :jawdrop: That's also why I take public transport into the busier areas. Less stressful.

T had a b-ball game today, and last night. He’s been in this tournament for 3 weeks now. Finally lost in the final. Came in second place to a team who has never lost a game in 2 years. T’s team lost by 3 points, which is much better than I expected!

Afterwards we went to our annual Wreaths Across America event. We donate a few wreaths to this cause every year. It’s held a specific cemetery in Cincinnati, for graves of military men and women who are no longer here. Veterans and Memorial Day are important, but this cause it to remember and honor them during the Christmas season as well. It’s a really special event and important to both myself and T.

Here’s some photos-
