Busy weekend ahead for us...

Sad part, viewing tomorrow for an old old friend who drugged and drank himself to death over the years - only 58. Haven’t seen him in a few decades. :(
Later in the evening, a surprise birthday party for another old friends 60th...!!!:)
And, then DWifeys side of the family Thanksgiving/family reunion on Sunday...!!!!!
And, life goes on...no matter what I do, it just keeps goin’.......

I’m sorry. That’s sad.

Hi guys. This is the first year I can accurately say the smell of roasting turkey makes me sick. I've had five 6 hour shifts in a row 5 feet away from pots of roasting turkey and its literally become a fume cloud at this point. My only day off this crazy week is Sunday and that's only because I have a ceremony for Scouts I'm speaking at. I work 8 hours on Thanksgiving and 7 on Black Friday. Ouch

@Tony the Tigger , thinking of you with your grand opening. Hoping today is going well so far, and that the weekend is also promising.
What she said ^^^^
@Tony the Tigger hope your grand opening went well!

It was really good all around!

The sign was up by 3am. It won’t have electricity until tomorrow, but that didn’t matter in the daytime.

Ribbon cuttings are fun! We had the Mayor, Vice-Mayor, a Commissioner, and another guy who is running now all show up. That last guy and the mayor and myself (and Brian) all went to Local Government Academy together in 2016. (Rather than run for a seat, I took an appointment to an advisory board to the City Commission which just ended a couple of months ago.)

I finished pricing new arrivals early this morning, dropped them at the store at 10, and ran to the Publix with a Starbucks for one of those big thingies of coffee and some pastries. By the time I got back at almost 11, everyone was there, plus maybe a dozen regular customers. I was able to give them all nice vinyl box sets that we secured from Universal (oops!) and a couple other labels/distributors. They were happy with that and deserved it.

We did the ribbon cutting, took pics, the City people cleared out, and we had a great sales day! (Double the usual Friday, even with a lot of discounts.)

I was passed out in the couch by about 1:30, and then had to go to the other store. Sales there were the usual, which is great because that means it wasn’t cannibalized by the other store’s event.

I had the craziest feeling of calm, in the moment, on the drive to the other store. Not thinking about the next step, not stressing, just calm.

There will be plenty of scrambling to do come Monday for Black Friday, but for now, I’m just relieved, grateful, and trying to sleep.

And sadly this trip is ending.I think it would bother me lots more if I hadn’t come down with a sore throat and cold this morning. Ready to be in my own bed. 😉
Blurg. And I understand. A year ago April I got very ill. I believe it was the plague of The Romaine Lettuce epidemic of 2018. Fortunately I was at Flamingo Crossings in the Western end of Disney property with a full kitchen and living and dining room. All my symptoms lined up to romaine lettuce and it was Nasty.

Be well my friend. Sorry our paths didn’t cross.
