All wars do that! People die, are maimed, psychologically, permanently damaged, socially dysfunctional. Some were lucky enough to find a path in life that de-emphasized the bad stuff, put it in a back corner of their minds and enabled them to live normal (whatever that is) lives. But to many it is a life long struggle. Those that couldn't pay someone to give them bone spurs, did what had to be done, but few ended up ever morally supporting the destruction that wars create. Some are necessary to save people from massive oppression, but most are just political games that come at a very high price.

This is very well said.

Wow, that's MASSIVE! I could never get one of those. A won't eat cotton candy, so it would be just E. I could help her eat it, but that's too much, even for both of us. How many does this feed? 10? It's awesome though!

I missed your reply. Actually to get it so tall it has to be very light and airy... so I'm guessing it's about the same as a regular bag of cotton candy... just all poofy! When Scott and I got the flower one in China...it looked huge, but was gone in a hot minute because it was so airy.

So question: anyone have one of those food saver vacuum saver machines? My DD has one and talks me into buying one, comes tomorrow. She loves hers.

I have one. My mom sent it to me when I told her I was getting a divorce, LOL. She said it would help me save money, and it really does! I make a lot of freezer food and the Foodsaver is perfect for packaging them up for work lunches and single dinners. The bag size is totally customizeable though so it would hold enough food for a family if you wanted. I also make things like taco meat and freeze that so I just have to heat it up for a couple minutes and then have a meal. As a single working mom I don't have time to cook elaborate meals between the time I get off work and the time the kid wants to eat, so cooking on a couple weekends a month and then just reheating during the week really works for us. Or if I'm making a meal and only need half an onion, I don't want to throw the other half away but I won't use it, so I dice it and freeze it. And on that note, when friends give us garden food I do the same thing. Keeps it much fresher than ziploc bags or saran wrap. I love ours!!

If you think you'd make food that you want to freeze for later, definitely get it. If you don't think you'd do that, it will just sit in your cupboard.

One note though: it IS plastic. So I reheat nothing in the bags. I know you can, but I don't.

NEVER!!!

My MIL has one.. she loves it. I wouldn't mind one... I just have no counter space left to put it!

I keep it in the cupboard, because I only use it a few times a month, if that. And it's super quick to use, so I don't need it for very long when I need it. It's definitely not a counter appliance, LOL

Thanks for the tips! I hadn’t thought of chopped onions! I do think I can use it since we buy a lot of fresh veggies.

I don't have one of those food seal saver machines either, but when I've had to freeze food, I just use either foil or plastic cling wrap. Guess I must be living under a stone or something. :hilarious:

(And as @Rista1313 mentioned, if you have a small kitchen, there's really not a lot of extra space to store an additional machine.)
