Totally... I told hubby that's the worst part of coming back from vacation for me.. is getting back into the swing of cooking meals!
Yep, I hear you. Dh takes lunch from home everyday, so Sunday is the day I make lunches for the week. We get back Saturday, and before I have time to unpack I head to the kitchen. Hmm. Maybe cook the week before you go away and freeze stuff. That way there is nothing to cook when you get back. Just reheat. Like lasagna or something.

That's not a bad idea... or at least make sure the freezer is stocked! I did cheat on Wednesday and used instacart again... as we were getting laundry done and putting everything away... I really had no time to go grocery shopping too.

For me the time before vacation is worse. I do not feel like cooking that week. There's already more to do than usual, and cooking just doesn't fit in with that.

I'll usually end up getting takeout and then making more than one meal of it. I'll get a pizza one night for myself, get some salad mix and dump it in a bowl, and eat the leftovers for three or four more meals.

I have a landline only because it is included in my TV, Internet and "phone" package. If I ask for it not to be included there is no reduction in price, so since I have to pay for it I am going to have it hooked up. I never get any calls on it other than my sister. My kids all have the number and I haven't even bothered to memorize the number. So this is what I have now along with iPhone 8.

It is an older set then the one shown in the picture, but the same model that I had for years in Vermont. (I didn't want to lose the phone number that the kids identified as home so I kept the landline long after I really used it anymore.) I'm an old softy like that. Just by luck, my cell number now is almost the same as my old home phone. Same digits with a couple in a different place. Even the friends of my daughters recognized how close it was to that original one.

Our phones look similar to those (different brand, but same thing with 2 handsets).

Hey, we're twins!! :joyfull:

I'm still debating on that.. we usually go out to dinner on Friday nights... but we just got back from eating out for 11 days............

(yet, I don't feel like cooking)

We haven't gone out for 11 days, so we're going out to dinner tonight (like every Friday night)! :joyfull:

You know what? Eleven is an uneven number -- I think you should go for 12 nights out! :hungry:

Yes most military posts have their own hospitals. Some are rather large and well equipped.

Thanks. Almost sounds like mini-cities -- they seem to have everything on site, then. :) Down through the years, I've heard of something called a "P X" where military can buy things at reduced prices. But aside of places to live there and restaurant(s) or cafeterias, I didn't realize they had medical facilities. I just assumed if someone needed a doctor, they'd drive them off-site to a regular clinic, or a hospital if an emergency.

See, I learn something new here on this forum every day!

@Goofyernmost , in case you haven't seen the new thread up on N&R, apparently WDW has a new system for renting ECVs, etc., and you have to wait to meet the mobility vendor delivery person at your resort. (I realize you went to UNI, but just thought I'd mention this new thread, as we were all just discussing the issue you had over at UNI with getting the ECV.)

I saw there was a change, but I hadn't checked it out yet. We rented from a vendor we had to meet this time. They were amazing. Gold Mobility Scooters.

30 year high school reunion this weekend! :jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop:

Homecoming game tonight, school tour tomorrow morning, party tomorrow night and family picnic on Sunday. So far we have had 150 register. Should be a good turnout. Looking forward to seeing old friends. Below is a picture of me, my friend Jim and my car from before the homecoming football game 30 years ago. It does not feel like 30 years!!

The question is... do you still have the car?
