You can rent a closet for about 1500 a month and if you're really lucky they'll throw in a parking space for only 250
I remember back in ‘87 when my buddy was workin’ for IBM in Manhattan and livin’ there too. DWifey and I were engaged at the time when we went to visit.
He and two of his coworkers were livin’ in a third floor walk up at 75th and Amsterdam.
Renovations were headin’ uptown at the time, but, they were about 3 blocks north of those.
He told us to just ignore the guy by the front stoop sellin’ crack...!!!!!

The place wasn’t a dump, but, it was somethin’ I wasn’t familiar with.
A tiny kitchen, one tiny bath, one tiny living area, one actual (yes, tiny

) bedroom, one storage room with a window and one storage room with no window.
For this they were payin’ $1,800 a month...in 1987...he volunteered the info, and we tried to keep our jaws from dropping...

one of the guys payed extra for the bedroom, the other slept on a foldout couch/sofa in the living area, and my buddy slept in the storage room without a window. He payed the lowest rent.
I had no clue why my buddy would choose a tiny storage room with no window to sleep in...until later that night. DWifey and I slept on a blowup mattress in the storage room with the window. With the noise comin’ off the streets through that window for what seemed like all night, we mighta’ got about 3 hours of sleep each...!!!!!

Regardless, it was an awesome trip...!!!!!
As a juxtaposition...
An apartment myself and that same buddy lived in while he was going to The University of Texas from ‘80-‘84 for the last 2 years he was here cost us $250/mo. ($125 each) in rent during the school year, and $225 total during the summer, and it was about 100 sq. ft. larger than the Manhattan walk up...!!!!!

So, what you’re sayin’ is, these days, for that same $250 a month I can rent a parking space to sleep in on “LongIlandt”...???

I’m too old for this...

Yes, pizza is what I meant...!!!!!
