I do hope that those ships will be competitive with the other lines, as far as activities go.

Right now I look at Disney ships, and seriously, what is there to do- together? The pool and slide, sure, mini golf.. but that’s about it. The new ships will hopefully have rock climbing or a ropes course or something like that.

One thing I really like about NCL is the “family activity” time. The cruise director would host.. every day was something different, dodgeball on the sports deck.. Just Dance on the large screen in the atrium...circus school..painting..karaoke..etc.
I can’t find anything like that on the current DCL ships.

I can see why you might want the rock walls and the stuff mentioned in your last paragraph because you have an active child. But that sounds too wild to me. :D:) I'll take the DCL ships, as I just want to relax.

I know a few of us really enjoy the Parent Trap movie, especially the original one, so I thought I would share this story. At the start of this school year I had my 7th graders fill out a getting to know you card. One of the questions on it was: What is your favorite TV show or movie? As I'm reading through the cards I get to this one girl's, I'll refer to her as M. She wrote her favorite movie is The Parent Trap. I think, "cool but she is probably referring to the one with Lindsay Lohan" which is good but not as good as the real one.

So the other day I'm talk to M and I mention that I saw her response to the movie question and I ask her which version. She seems confused and I'm directing my questions about the Lohan version, she starts mentioning things about the real version, the Hayley Mills version. The Disney nerd inside me starts bubbling up, but I don't want to scare M off. But long story short, she loves the Hayley Mills version and I'm thinking this is one smart girl and her parents have raised her right!

I don’t remember having any ac in schools, except the computer rooms. We had windows. We never were given a day off because it was hot either. Public school in NY. I have a friend on Long Island who is a high school English teacher. Her salary is over $125k a year. That isn’t including benefits.

We never had A/C in our schools in No Cal, but, all schools down here have A/C.
