Another 9/11 anniversary.
18 years already, and, at my age, it still seems like it was yesterday. So vivid are the memories.
There was only one other coworker in the office when I got here about 7:45a.
I got settled in and a few minutes later he came to my office and said a plane hit the WTC a few minutes ago. My first thoughts were of a B-25 bomber that hit the Empire State Building back in 1945. But, that was in heavy fog, and this was a clear day in NYC.
Most of us were in the office to see the second plane hit the other tower on one of the partners office TVs.
No chance it was an accident now. I'll never forget the all-enveloping sick feeling I had.

I had met the pilot of Flight 77 (the one that hit the Pentagon) on one of my former flight attendant SILs layovers here in Austin once.
He invited me into the cockpit and we talked aviation while DWifey and her sis sat in the front of the plane and chatted.
Also lost on that flight was a friend of SILs and fellow flight attendant, and her husband. She was flying a jump seat to California with him for a vacation. She was also our guest book attendant at our wedding.
Just a horrible day all the way around. Seems like everyone I know was affected/connected in some way or another.
Continued prayers to all affected.

In memory of Charles "Chic" Burlingame and Jennifer Lewis.

I recalled that day with me being a college student at the time with it being my final semester. I remembered my cell phone being on over 30 minutes before my first class and I was notified of what happened with the twin towers by a phone call to my cell phone. The college cafeteria had the news on with pictures of that event throughout the day.

I do know one thing about the pentagon on that day. A church member's son was supposed to be in the pentagon that day, something happened and the Church members sons friend was in the pentagon instead. I knew about this because the sons parents know my mom and I in Church and they told us.

@ajrwdwgirl , have you kept up with Bachelor in Paradise? Next episode is the finale. This has been quite a season on that show! (P.S.: I read that they only spend about 3 weeks in "paradise" -- so any serious proposals, etc., seem a bit premature. But then again, it's entertainment, reality TV, after all !!) :p

Of course! It has been highly entertaining. It has been an interesting trip to "paradise", plenty of drama but in some ways not as dramatic as other seasons. The reunion looks to have some fireworks though. Maybe some of the relationships will last but I have a feeling most of them are there for the "free" vacation. It is just fun to watch though.

I'll bet you a Mickey bar that Dean will break off from Caelynn within a month, tops. ;) He's not exactly steady.
