The Brazilian tour groups: is Disney taking action?

Nah, wrong...It has nothing to do with language....Just because you don't care about manners or let things bother you does not mean a large portion doesn't.... There is no reason to be running around, cutting and screaming... Grow up and behave if not get the hell out.

I know what you are saying but I have never seen that extreme happen in all my times there. Its just confusing to me because I just never saw it hapen.

Cutting, Screaming, Running

I know based on my earlier post, it would come across that I dislike the groups. Thats not true. I abhor unruly behavior. I work with High School students as a profession, and all of the almost 1000 in my school know how I respond to purposeful disrespectful behavior.

Every single one of us that pays to go to Disney, does so with the prospect of anticipated enjoyment. They are entitled to enjoy their time there, however, under no uncertain terms are they or anyone else permitted to impose themselves on other guests. If it happens relatively inadvertently, that is fine, stuff happens. However, when it becomes a purposeful lack of respect for others, that is unacceptable.

I work exceptionally hard for my money, and Disney is not cheap. I (as well as all others here) deserve the right to have our spent money utilized in the manner we see fit. It is unacceptable for them to misbehave and ruin the trip for my DW, DD or myself. If that should happen, their chaperone and I will have a strong conversation.

now that I know you are a teacher then I understand you tolerence issue. As a teacher you should understand that what is disrespectful in one culture may not be in another. For instance I was in China and they are very up close and personel. They will get very close to you and it is uncomfortable and you would take it as being ignorant or disrespectful but you learn it is their way. I really don't think they are thinkng they are being disrespectful to us by chanting or running or even screaming.
to me the young american kids that I hear cursing without regard for who is in ear shot ticks me off but I ty to ignore it, however if they are close by they get the look.

Actually I'm now a vice principal, so I get to deal with it on much larger scale:). With that said however, I do disagree a little bit. As a former social studies teacher we talked quite a bit about other cultures, and then travel you adapt to their culture not vice versa. It is ultimately very disrespectful for any groups to come in and scream and chant and possibly ruin the experience for other people just because this is what they're accustomed to in their home culture thousand miles away. At the end of the day it is the adult chaperones who are truly responsible and are the ones that deserve a response

Imagine this:

A convoy of Brazillian cheerleaders driving scooters down Main Street, each towing a double-wide stroller like a trailer, led by a pack of untrained, unregistered "service animals".

That's the ultimate nightmare scenario.

This hybrid tour group will destroy us all!!!!! It's the perfect storm. Or a very plausible sequel to the file 'The Perfect Storm'.

When they cut 20 people in a line, they know they are doing wrong. When they chant incessantly over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, they know they are doing wrong. When they walk arm-in-arm 7 wide and nearly clothesline people, they know they are doing wrong. This is not a cultural misconception issue. Again, I know that ALL groups that come to Disney do this. Brazilian groups get the brunt of the lashing out because they are the most recognizable and condensed groups.

They know what they are doing and they know that it is wrong. Many of my friends go in June and July and witness this behavior. Too often the groups do this stuff with a smirk and act as if they don't understand people when they are asked to cease the behavior.

Tour Groups, we give them a wide berth and head in the other direction. Generally we are not there when they are there, since we go in winter. South America= avoid. Puerto Rico= avoid. Brits= talk them every chance I get, usually while eating or waiting for a parade. We stay at POP, so we don't have to deal with them.

Pop Warners, have not experienced this yet.

Cheerleaders, Mostly seen them in groups of 5 or less. Annoying little chatter boxes when they don't have their faces glued to their cell phones. But the ones we have seen were fairly well behaved.

Marathoners, Most are quiet, respectful, nice to talk to. They sometimes are in small groups. The only issue I have seen is that there can be a lot of them and their families in the area all at once, usually concentrated in MK. Solution, avoid marathons or go to other parks.

The problem is basic, lack of respect. Period. One other problem, Disney has one primary park everyone wants to go to and that is MK. It has three parks which lack what MK has which is a lot of stuff to do. Until this is fixed there will be abnormally unbalanced crowds across property.

It is really blown out of proportion by some people on the boards that are xenophobic. I've experienced the Brazilian tour groups and also experienced the Pop Warner crowds as well as some of the grad nights... To be honest in every instance you had kids acting like kids. Do some in the Brazilian group chant in portuguese? Yes, but then some groups of American cheerleaders or band kids will also chant... only difference is the xenophobic folks don't understand portuguese so they assume it must be stopped while they simply ignore the American cheerleaders chanting something that is equally annoying.

well i dont like any of that....our culture sucks....if you stopped it at the gates..it would end....

Right I've decided the Brazilians are getting all the plaudits here and I'm not having it. I'm thinking of starting 'Very British tour groups' and we're going to be noticed too as we march around the park. Expect shouts of 'God save the Queen' and over politeness aplenty coming to Disney parks soon

god cant save the queen....he created America. than we saved your queen.
