In the Parks
Yes
Not in Innoventions, but the entire Opera House on Main Street was turned into "Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years".

I wonder how much of the space will be used.

New MiceChat update this morning. Most of it details the constant changing of how the 60th information is being released. It really makes no sense why they wouldn’t do everything at once but oh well.

The main nugget of new news is that the former Taste Pilots Grill next to Soarin will be rethemed to a 1940’s restaurant called Smoke Jumpers Grill and will include a dance floor for swing dancing. They also mention Neil Patrick Harris will serve as ambassador for the 60th festivities. The ride upgrades, Hatbox Ghost, 60th exhibit, and a Marvel experience upgrade on the top floor of Innoventions will be released in small chunks over the next few months.

It is expected that Star Wars and Marvel additions to DL and DCA will likely be announced at D23 according to MiceChat.

For those that missed it, per the latest Miceage Update at Micechat.com : Neil Patrick Harris will be the 60th Ambassador, like Julie Andrews was the 50th Ambassador. http://micechat.com/94360-disneyland-diamonds/

This should be fun to watch! I hope they give Mr. Harris an "Disneyland host jacket" and maybe even an "official pin", like Julie Rheim got her "Disneyland hostess dress" and her "official pin" for Disneyland's Tencenial in 1965.

Here's the reference, for those not up to speed on their Disneyland history, at the 22:20 mark of this old World of Color episode from 1965.

Man, that Walt was smooth, slyly flirting with the tour guide on National Television yet still appearing as kindly Uncle Walt. And in Living COLOR, no less! Only Walt could have gotten away with that. I suppose it also helps that it was 1965.

While it is easy to make the connection with Julie Andrews being associated with the 50th, i am struggling to see the *Disney connection* with Neil Patrick Harris.

What does he have to do with the legacy of the Disney Organization?
Did i miss something...?
Seems a odd choice.

Are they just choosing someone *contemporary* to attract attention to the Anniversary events, or is it for another reason?

This is not meant to come across as a slam against Neil, I am just honestly curious as to why he was chosen to be DLs 60th Anniversary Ambassador to the World.
I am not really seeing the connection there.

I don't either. I'd rather have Julie Andrews again, or maybe D*ck Van D*ke.

EDITED: Oh come on WDW Magic! I can't even type the guy's name thanks to PC. Seriously!!!!

I know he is a big Disney fan and often goes to the parks with his family. Currently he does voice over at California Screamin' and will a voice in the good dinosaur. I'm not sure if there is much more of a connection.
