Trip Report The “Jasmine kissed me” Suprise Christmas Trip!

A33632BE-0F32-42B9-AD78-FADFA6A29EF5.jpeg
Who: Me, Hubs, Jet (7), Bear(4), Nene(4), Handsome (2), Grandma & Grandpa

What: Suprise Whirlwind Christmas trip

Where: AOA & Contemporary

When: Dec 15-19th

Why: I started planning this trip 382 days ago. We were in the middle of an addition on our 100 year old farmhouse. My family of 6 had been transplanted into a 2 bedroom rental house with 1 bathroom. After weeks of dragging our 4 rowdy kids to granite stores, paint stores and window companies I felt like a failure as a parent. Our lives and theirs had been consumed by this beast and money pit we call our home. The 6 month project had turned into a year and was 35% over budget. I needed to make up for this nightmare of a year to my beloved babes. I decided that night that we were going to take them to Disney at the wrap of our construction. Thus planning began.

We waited until the end for our picture with Goofy. View attachment 256357

I am going to briefly interrupt this trip report to say my children and I are one of the few people who actually like this gingerbread! I wish I had another shingle! View attachment 256360

Tristan loves it! We still haven’t made our Santa Mickey gingerbread cookie kit that we purchased at Disney to make for Christmas.
It’s on the to-do list for this week.lol

After lunch it was time to head back to the resort for naps. While waiting at the bus stop the girls made friends with a little boy who was on a trip with his Grandparents. Grandpa was wearing an Oklahoma shirt so of course the hubs had to comment about football. He still gets angry that Mayfield had the audacity to plant a flag at the Shoe:eek:. Anyways my girls associate Oklahoma with the Pioneer Woman so they asked if they knew her. Turns out they did!! Their best friend is her photographer so they have been to her ranch. We all peppered them with questions and it made the time pass quickly. This is one thing about Disney I love. Meeting people and hearing about their lives, it’s a small world after all ;). We got back to the resort about 1:15pm and everyone crashed. View attachment 256361

I am soooo on your husband’s side on this one!!! I’m still angry over Baker Mayfield’s antics.
I slept for 20 minutes, woke up and showered for the party that night. After I finished blow drying my hair my eyes started watering. I wasn’t sure what was going on but needed to keep on schedule so I ignored it. I finished getting ready, woke up the hubs so he could do the same. I packed the park bag then woke up some very grumpy kiddos. Everyone was whiney and exhausted. Grandma to the rescue. She had bought the kids the light up holiday necklaces and they distracted the kids from their exhaustion. We decided to walk to MK. We get through security quickly and are continuing on our trek when a scooter zooms up and is on our side of the sidewalk. It was a hairs breath away from taking out Grandma and Jet. My husband was furious. Especially after he saw the scooter rider get up off the scooter and move around better than his own mother can. I know a lot of people truly need these scooters but the sheer number of them in the parks makes me believe they are being very abused. Steps off my soapbox.

Anyway.. it was about 4:30 by the time we make our way into the park. I wanted a picture of all of us in our party outfits but the PP lines were long. We decided to do it later and ride some rides now. I did get these beauties on our walk to Adventureland. View attachment 256362View attachment 256363
Our first ride request was the Magic Carpets. My kids love the spitting Camels on this ride.

You can’t tell a lot in these pictures but my eyes were really bothering me. I had tears pouring down my cheeks. Grandma kept urging me to go to the medical center but I didn’t want to waste our valuable time at the party.

I’m in love with your family. Those outfits are adorable!!!!!

We went to the Jasmine & Aladdin meet and greet next. We waited in line for about 5 minutes. The cast member told us they were going to go on break before us but we would be their first when they returned. This was fine with us so we hung around. My eyes were now burning. I ran to the bathroom an tried splashing water in them. Didn’t help. We decided to do mobile ordering from Columbia Harbour House. We had problem with Bear the entire trip saying she asked for something else when her food arrived. So my hubby had an ingenious idea.
It worked like a charm.
It was our turn to meet Jasmine and Aladdin. These two were amazing. They played “Genie says” spent a few minutes with each child and then Jasmine made Handsome’s entire trip.

I wish we would have bought one. We didn’t buy many souvenirs this trip since it was a few days before Christmas. I regret not buying things like that. Post pics!

Loving those party shirts! I hope all was well with your eyes, can't wait for the next post!
Thank you. The eyes were terrible. I don’t wear contacts or glasses so I have never had many issues with my eyes.

I love the party outfits, you all look so cute!

Thank you! I wear mine still!

I feel like it’s a mom secret that goldfish solve everything, a good reason to always have some handy! Love the gingerbread pictures :)

Goldfish are so addicting. I don’t think there is anyone who can say no to them.

Timing was perfect. As soon as we finished with J & A I received the message our food was ready. Everyone had chicken nuggets & fries except me. I had the lobster roll and I was surprised by how good it was.

By the time we finished eating it was 6:00pm. We wanted to see the first frozen show so I knew we needed to high tail it over to the castle. We squeezed in just as the show was starting. We all picked a kiddo to hold and enjoyed the show. It was magical through the eyes of my children. Pictures do that castle no justice! I had real tears at my kiddos happiness. We are no photographers so I will spare you most of our pics.

Nene & Bear were ready for SDMT since we arrived on property. It was finally time. Of course my eyes were driving me nuts so we had to make a short detour so I could flush them with water again. The wait was around 20 minutes. We spent the time playing double this double that. I attempted to teach the girls all the games my sister and I played but those seemed lame compared to the new ones. It was finally our turn. As you can tell by Bear & Nene’s smiles it was worth the wait!

After seeing these pictures on SDMT I think your husband needs an “I - O” to finish out his arm motions!

YES, the amount of scooters in the park is absolutely crazy!!! I know they are for people with needs, but I feel like some use it as a crutch. My mom is having knee surgery in March and went to Disney in October and didn't have a scooter. She did 68 miles in 8 days. Yes, she rested but she was able to manage fine without a scooter, as it looked like your parents were, also.

Glad Hollywood and Vine was fun! Adorable pic of Handsome touching Mickey!!! I hope the gang wasn't too tired to enjoy the party! What a great experience with Jasmine!!!!!!! And an AMAZING picture!!!:inlove::inlove::inlove::geek::geek::geek:

Awesome Mine Train pics!! So glad the girls loved it!! Waiting stinks but at least the queue has great games!

My hubby joked that my trip report should be named “Grandma got ran over by a scooter.” 68 miles that’s amazing! I should have tracked our steps. We had such a blast HS & MVMCP day. It will go down in the books for us here. Thanks for following.

We decided to head to Princess Fairytale Hall. Nene’s favorite princess is Tiana and she has never met Naveen. As we are walking I realize we forgot the photo mat! I stole this idea from @blgauger but her execution was much better since hers was smaller. I felt awful since this was her favorite princess. First up was Rapunzel & Flynn. The kids kept reminding them of things from the morning. “Do you still have the picture I colored for you?” But the cast members were on their A game “ Pasqual liked it so much we hung it up for him” etc. Flynn had Handsome working on his smolder.

I love Bears photobomb in this one.

Next up was T & N. They were teaching the kids how to make gumbo.

At the end Nene told Tiana she was her favorite and got an extra squeeze but the pp missed it.

After we finished we hit up our first treat station hot chocolate and snowman cookies. I was all over the kids not to spill hot chocolate on their shirts because I still wanted a family picture. I didn’t get any treats. My eyes were a real damper. I was trying to make light of it and power through but it was incredibly frustrating. By this point the line to meet the others princesses & princes was really long. We decided to just keep riding rides. Grandma loves BTMR and had the girls amped up for their first ride. We made our way over and realized there wasn’t much for Grandpa and Handsome to do near by. They decided to stake out a spot in Frontierland to watch the 1st parade and we could join them after. The wait was about 20 minutes.

We absolutely loved this ride! We get off and the girls are begging and pleading to ride again. If we ride we will miss the parade. So we miss the parade.

We walked briskly to Grandpa and Handsome but the parade was almost over. Grandpa and Handsome had a front row spot. We could see them but we were not going to rudely squeeze in. We saw Handsome get a high five from one of the reindeer and waving excitedly as Santa passed.

Since we missed the first parade we were going to need to find a way to stay awake for the 2nd one:eek:. After the parade finished up we slowly walked with the masses towards the Haunted Mansion. It was a walk on. The ride broke down and I was stuck with a very scared two year old in a pitch black area of the ride. Handsome doesn’t get scared of the dark normally so it was surprising. After our ride we quickly made our way to Main Street for the stage show. I love these boys.

And this beautiful castle. I just can’t get enough.

We decided to find a spot on Main Street to watch the parade. Hubby and I were going to run to get everyone snow cones and cookies since it was easier for us to navigate the crowds. The hubs and I take a leisurely stroll towards Tomorrowland. He comments that he doesn’t like the smell of the Disney shampoo in my hair because it smells strong. I am very sensitive to smell so I start to wonder if this is what is wrong with my eyes. We get the snow cones and make our way back to Main Street. Handsome, Nene and Bear are all asleep. I try to wake them Bear is the only one who wakes up. We give her and Jet two snow cones each. The sugar needs to keep them up. It’s time for the parade. I held Claire the entire time so I don’t have many pictures. We loved it. Especially the nutcrackers and the reindeer.
