Trip Report The “Jasmine kissed me” Suprise Christmas Trip!

Who: Me, Hubs, Jet (7), Bear(4), Nene(4), Handsome (2), Grandma & Grandpa

What: Suprise Whirlwind Christmas trip

When: Dec 15-19th

Why: I started planning this trip 382 days ago. We were in the middle of an addition on our 100 year old farmhouse. My family of 6 had been transplanted into a 2 bedroom rental house with 1 bathroom. After weeks of dragging our 4 rowdy kids to granite stores, paint stores and window companies I felt like a failure as a parent. Our lives and theirs had been consumed by this beast and money pit we call our home. The 6 month project had turned into a year and was 35% over budget. I needed to make up for this nightmare of a year to my beloved babes. I decided that night that we were going to take them to Disney at the wrap of our construction. Thus planning began.

That minnievan was a great idea after such a long first day.

It was so convenient! Especially since they have multiple car seats. That is the hardest part of traveling with our kiddos.

Jet, Nene, Bear, Hubby and I load up. We requested a 2nd Minnie Van which arrived 5 minutes after the first one. Our driver was so sweet, I wish I could remember her name! She told us how popular the vans have been and that she was really enjoying her job. In no time we were at the Boardwalk Resort. This was my first time at this resort and let me tell you I was in love. If we ever make a trip without the grandparents this is where I am staying. Handsome, Grandma and Grandpa arrived shortly after us and we made our way to our ADR. When we arrived Flynn Ryder came right out and hung with our group. He was so entertaining and engaging. It was time to head to our table. They quickly took our drink orders and brought out these beauties.

Then the guests of honor arrived. First up was Flynn & Rapunzel. He gave a dip and a kiss. Get a room! .

Now I was worried the magic was over for Jet before this trip started. She has now realized that these characters were just people dressed up. I was hoping to have one more magical vacation with her before that time was over. This breakfast made sure that happened. My Little Mermaid lover has never meant price Eric. She was smitten when he walked in.

I ordered the breakfast calzone.

I didn’t like this. . The dough was soggy and there was a lot of onions. The kids got the character waffles.

It was time for our character interactions. These were some of the best of our trip. They spent so much time with each table. I highly reccomend this meal. Flood of pictures.

After breakfast it was time to make our way to Hollywood studios. We asked a passerby which way it was and he pointed so we started walking. We should have just looked at the app. He had sent us to Epcot. Since grandma has a bad knee we decided to just jump on the boat rather than walking.

It was a warm leisurely ride. We arrived at Hollywood studios about 20 minutes later. Security was light so we breezed through. We had a fastpass for the Tower of Terror. This was a first for all of us except Grandma. Grandma and Grandpa are Disney lovers. They go often on their own and always accompany us on our trips. Grandpa and Handsone were unable to ride so they had a little photo shoot while they waited.

I was worried about the girls on this ride. However they had no issues and loved it.

We did our own little photo shoot afterwards.

I'm a bit behind on catching up!! The Epcot night sounds magical, and it will be a great story when they are older, that they almost went flying on Frozen!! Sometimes, excitement gets the better of you! Nene was so sweet and forgiving about sleeping through fireworks. Hopefully, she gets to see some fireworks on this trip!!

Now I was worried the magic was over for Jet before this trip started. She has now realized that these characters were just people dressed up. I am SO GLAD Jet could suspend reality and enjoy the characters. I'm over 30, but when I set foot on the Disney property, reality is suspended and those characters, castles and lands are completely REAL to me. I hope all your kids always feel the same way.

Impressed they loved the Tower of Terror. I don't ride it, because I don't like the feeling of falling but glad your girls were brave and didn't have an issue. Can't wait to read about what comes next, I know there's a tooth story....

6:00 came quick!! I got ready packed the park bag then woke up the hubby. Nene was next. She woke easily and was happily got dressed. We went to the bathroom so she could brush her teeth and I could do her hair. She said “ Mama we didn’t eat dinner last night.” I said “We did baby you fell asleep.” Suddenly a horror stricken look crossed her face and she asks “Mama did I miss the fireworks?” I said “Yes baby I’m sorry you were sleeping.” She started sobbing. I felt so bad. We hadn’t even tried to wake her up once we were in the restaurant. We should have attempted to rouse her. I gave her a hug and apologized that she missed them. She said “ It’s ok Mama you’re always the best Mama.” She is our challenge at times but has a heart as big as Disney. I just love her sweet soul. At this point I tried to request the Minnie car and realize I need a special code. Down to concierge I go. The lady this time also seemed annoyed I was asking about the Minnie vans. She finally plugged my info in the computer and gave me the buzz off look. I get a feeling not all cast members like the Minnie vans. I get back to the room to finish waking the squad. Everyone else woke a little grumpy. I told them I had another Suprise for them which cheered them up. I got a notice that our ride was on its way. We head downstairs and look what was waiting for us. It’s amazing how much I think about the girls clothes before these trips. Handsome it’s just a T-shirt and short and he is good to go.

Nene is just too sweet. She has the sweetest little voice so anything she says is adorable but this just melted my heart too.

We quickly made our way to The Little Mermaid and just squeaked in before the show started.

After our journey under the sea we were off to our next fastpass. TSMM is a fan favorite in our house. We can’t wait for the new Toy Story land to open!

We had accomplished all we wanted to do at HS however we had 45 minutes until our lunch ADR. Waits were too long for rides and there were no show times that worked well. We decided to just get some Starbucks do a little shopping and take in the sights.

It was finally time for our 11:45 ADR at Minnie’s Holiday Vine and they took us right in. We were able to fill our plates right away with the standard buffet fare. I honestly don’t even remember what I ate, sorry! Soon all the characters were making their rounds. Picture flood.

We waited until the end for our picture with Goofy.

I am going to briefly interrupt this trip report to say my children and I are one of the few people who actually like this gingerbread! I wish I had another shingle!

Ha! She forgot her glasses so all she had were her prescription shades.

“I wear my sunglasses at night.” Was her theme song this trip. My children actually sing that song now!

After lunch it was time to head back to the resort for naps. While waiting at the bus stop the girls made friends with a little boy who was on a trip with his Grandparents. Grandpa was wearing an Oklahoma shirt so of course the hubs had to comment about football. He still gets angry that Mayfield had the audacity to plant a flag at the Shoe. Anyways my girls associate Oklahoma with the Pioneer Woman so they asked if they knew her. Turns out they did!! Their best friend is her photographer so they have been to her ranch. We all peppered them with questions and it made the time pass quickly. This is one thing about Disney I love. Meeting people and hearing about their lives, it’s a small world after all . We got back to the resort about 1:15pm and everyone crashed.

I slept for 20 minutes, woke up and showered for the party that night. After I finished blow drying my hair my eyes started watering. I wasn’t sure what was going on but needed to keep on schedule so I ignored it. I finished getting ready, woke up the hubs so he could do the same. I packed the park bag then woke up some very grumpy kiddos. Everyone was whiney and exhausted. Grandma to the rescue. She had bought the kids the light up holiday necklaces and they distracted the kids from their exhaustion. We decided to walk to MK. We get through security quickly and are continuing on our trek when a scooter zooms up and is on our side of the sidewalk. It was a hairs breath away from taking out Grandma and Jet. My husband was furious. Especially after he saw the scooter rider get up off the scooter and move around better than his own mother can. I know a lot of people truly need these scooters but the sheer number of them in the parks makes me believe they are being very abused. Steps off my soapbox.

Anyway.. it was about 4:30 by the time we make our way into the park. I wanted a picture of all of us in our party outfits but the PP lines were long. We decided to do it later and ride some rides now. I did get these beauties on our walk to Adventureland.

Our first ride request was the Magic Carpets. My kids love the spitting Camels on this ride.

You can’t tell a lot in these pictures but my eyes were really bothering me. I had tears pouring down my cheeks. Grandma kept urging me to go to the medical center but I didn’t want to waste our valuable time at the party.

And now it was 11:15am. We stil had 30 minutes and I was on borrowed time. Kids were tired, hungry and hot. We looked at the fountains, the pool and back to the gingerbread house. Finally Nene & handsome were done. Whining and crying was all that they had left. So even though we were 10 minutes away from our ADR we pulled up a table outside and had a picnic of goldfish, Southwest peanuts & pretzels. View attachment 253302

We went to the Jasmine & Aladdin meet and greet next. We waited in line for about 5 minutes. The cast member told us they were going to go on break before us but we would be their first when they returned. This was fine with us so we hung around. My eyes were now burning. I ran to the bathroom an tried splashing water in them. Didn’t help. We decided to do mobile ordering from Columbia Harbour House. We had problem with Bear the entire trip saying she asked for something else when her food arrived. So my hubby had an ingenious idea.
It worked like a charm.
It was our turn to meet Jasmine and Aladdin. These two were amazing. They played “Genie says” spent a few minutes with each child and then Jasmine made Handsome’s entire trip.
