Trip Report The “Jasmine kissed me” Suprise Christmas Trip!

Who: Me, Hubs, Jet (7), Bear(4), Nene(4), Handsome (2), Grandma & Grandpa

What: Suprise Whirlwind Christmas trip

Where: AOA & Contemporary

When: Dec 15-19th

Why: I started planning this trip 382 days ago. We were in the middle of an addition on our 100 year old farmhouse. My family of 6 had been transplanted into a 2 bedroom rental house with 1 bathroom. After weeks of dragging our 4 rowdy kids to granite stores, paint stores and window companies I felt like a failure as a parent. Our lives and theirs had been consumed by this beast and money pit we call our home. The 6 month project had turned into a year and was 35% over budget. I needed to make up for this nightmare of a year to my beloved babes. I decided that night that we were going to take them to Disney at the wrap of our construction. Thus planning began.

Poor show, Tink.

I’m not really sure what we expected from her but she must have been new because she didn’t handle it well. Let’s just hope she isn’t the one who flies during HEA.

In her defense she was looking at a tooth. We cleaned it but it was still a tooth!! I blame our dentist.

I can understand Tink being a little taken a back, but she should have recovered quickly and made a big deal out of losing the tooth.
I’m sorry for your daughter in that experience.

So glad the Prince and Princesses at FTH during MVMCP were on their A game for the kids!! Teaching them how to make gumbo! Cool! YAY for falling in love with BTMRR so much they missed the parade!!! I hope Handsome grows to love the HM! Your kids have energy and made it past the 2nd parade all the way to two more rides! Wow! That dessert at CRT looks delicious!

Yes, all the pics of Handsome and Grandpa are great. What a great bonding experience!!

Sorry about Tink. That really is heartbreaking. Yes, I would imagine face characters are trained for odd requests or comments and you would think she would make a big deal about it. I know the TINK character is a diva but ....

Actually, we learned on our tour that most of the flying Tinks are female!

Regarding the tooth, it really was a poor reaction on Tink's part. I know it would be unexpected, and yet...would it really? I would almost bet that Tink would have been prepped for any Tooth Fairy comparison/ question....right? I mean that would be a common kid association.

This is not the “purple wall” however this is her purple wall. Our princess and her Prince Charming had the best time at their ball. Maybe next trip we’ll get a picture at the actual wall.

Ahhh thank you! They were park champions. They only took a nap one day of the trip and we were in the parks from open to close so a little grumpiness is to be expected!

I completely agree about there being zero good surprises left in life. The moment when the doctor said “It’s a girl or boy is magical” and I loved having all those months dreaming about who I was going to meet. Plus when it comes time to push its nice to have that extra motivation.

I really hit the lottery with my in laws. I hope you do too.

Tink was not on her A game. I wonder if we were the story she went home and told her significant other about, haha!

Finally continuing on. Grandma and Grandpa were in the exact spot we had left them before the Tinkerbell fiasco. We were also half way through our next fastpass window. We decided that I would take the girls to meet Cinderella & Elena everyone else would stay put. Nene’s name is Elena. When Bear (her twin)was a baby she couldn’t say Elena and always called her Nene. Now we call her Nene 75% of the time. She loves that there is now a princess that shares her name. Tiana is still her favorite but Elena is in her top 3.Main Street was packed. We slowly navigated our way through and made in with only a couple minutes to spare. The line was pretty backed up so it was still about a 20 minute wait.

I texted hubby and he said if we hurried we could still make it back in time for Mickey. I decided to use my super human twin mama strength and scooped up the twins. Juliet and I briskly walked down Main Street. Unfortunately we just missed them. They had already gone into the room with Talkinging Mickey.

But wait.... he wasn’t talking Mickey?!!! How do you meet talking Mickey?? I was confused and out of breath but Handsome had loved every minute.

We debated what to do next we were all tired. We only had 1.5 hours until our next fastpass. We decided to take a nice relaxing ride in the MPB. Handsome is obsessed with trains so this was on our must do list. We waited in line about 20 minutes and when the train rolled in we just missed the cut off. So we waited another 20 minutes. Good news was we were first on bad news was we only had time to ride to Fantasyland.

When we exited the train the kids wanted to play in the water for a bit. So they all ran and got wet and had a blast.

Re: Tink. That is the same Tink we visited with on our last trip and she was terrible, I was hoping she would have been moved on by now, but apparently not. I'm so sad for your kids, don't take the blame. She was rude to us during the M&G and totally ignored my DBF.

It was time to make our way to Tales with Belle our next fastpass. Throughout this trip our party was a bit to large to walk together. We would pair off and walk in two groups and meet up at our next destination.Hubby is tall and walks incredibly fast so him and I would lead. Hubby, handsome, Jet and I make our way to Tales with Belle. About 3 minutes after we arrive my whole world ends..... Grandma and Grandpa arrive with only Bear. They thought Nene was with us. I lose it. It’s decided Grandma will stay put Hubby who is the fastest was going back to where we came from Grandpa and I are searching the way. I take the right side he takes the left. I am crying and pretty much hyperventilating. I see a cast member and describe her clothes and ramble as much info as I can spew. I make it all the way back to the splash pad and there she is curled up in a ball tiny and scared with a cast member by her side. They said she did everything right. She stayed put, flagged down a cast member and gave them my name and phone number. They had been calling me when I walked up. I sat and held my precious babe and rocked and cried with her. This was the scariest moment of my life and I felt like an absolute failure as a parent.

My husband and Grandpa arrived shortly after. We thanked the amazing cast member and carried her back to Grandma. I still can’t believe we lost her. It can happen so quick. I hope no one else ever has to go through this but know that Disney castmember are pretty amazing in situations like this.

We ask her if she would just like to go back to the hotel but her answer is no she wants to see the Belle show. Our fastpass window was still open so in we go. Nene is very animated so when it came time to roar for the part of the beast she was over the top and selected. It was a little pixie dust I believe as we needed something to get us back in the Disney spirit.

Thank you. It was one of those things I could never understand how someone could lose their child. And then I did in possibly the worst way. Luckily we are always prepping them for worst case scenarios being lost, fire, someone taking them etc. my brother is a police officer and tells me heart breaking stories. I was glad she was prepared but so sad she had to be.
