News Test Track to be reimagined

It never meant that though. With Epcot it meant throwing out a lot of concepts to appease the sponsors. It meant delays and cutbacks. It also (IMHO) meant less timeless attractions if you go back and look at what the imagineers originally pitched before an outside interest had any influence. It only barely worked for a time and that time has long since past. As others have pointed out, that model of investment doesn't work anymore.
You mean more family, more timeless, more Disney?

Good they are doing a refresh, but how about something NEW. Stop just replacing old rides with a re-skin. Add new things and more capacity.
Test Track is a popular and successful attraction. It’s getting a refresh on GM’s dime to set it up for the next decade. There’s not an option here where Test Track is replaced entirely or GM sponsors an additional new build attraction.

Looking forward to finding out a bit more about what they're planning. The mention of it taking some cues from WoM will be interesting to see. What I can't work out is how they'll tie it all in to the double brake test. They awkwardly ignored the first one when they switched over to trontrack. With the update they either need to rework that section so it doesn't do the brake test or make it apart of the show again.

I just hope they get rid of the pre-show and expand the indoor queue a bit.
My guess is that pre-shows are going to be included with all E tickets going forward. It allows Disney to sell LLs while still expecting to be in line for 15-25m (“it was a walk on all the way to the pre show!”). I don’t want to be right and I don’t think TT “needs” a pre-show, but if there is going to be one, I’d prefer an interactive pre-show like the car design studio as opposed to the standard more passive ones we’ve seen pop up over the past 10 years.

You must have forgotten the original TT pre-show.

Main theme for COP...yes I am saying that... It was the song of the attraction on it's addition to WDW...and WDW specific... Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow was for the World's Fair and Disneyland... I would love to have WDW's own original song back....the song of my childhood...
The only reason the song was replaced was GE was afraid it subtly told people to wait to purchase GE products. The fair, of course, was all about imagining the future.

If nostalgia is a big part of the new attraction, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a pre-show with a video presentation about the history of Chevrolet, packed with lots of vintage footage showing families hitting the road for vacation adventures in their Chevy.
I don’t think we’ll see that as a preshow (curious if we’ll even get a preshow with this incarnation), but it wouldn’t surprise me to see that in the queue like the multiple Chevy videos in the queue for 2.0.

I'm optimistic, pretty much anything could be better than Test Track v2, which was just a bunch of flats. My expectations are more physical scenery, not expecting many blatant WOM homages in it aside from tone, maybe the theme of how vehicles have advanced (could play into how GE wants to lean in to the electric vehicle market) and maybe It's Fun to Be Free. I have a ton of nostalgia for test track v1, it was my favorite ride at Disney World when I was a kid. If V3 is very physical set heavy (like how the concept art had the ascent area that had the laser tree as a forest, which presumably will have big fake trees), I'll be happy.
It’s Fun to be free would be a fantastic return!!

That is not a bad idea either....And they need to be practical sets, not VR glasses or projections... Build an amazing model....a fantastic futuristic cityscape that we fly through in our electric vehicle of the Future... I am tired of everything being based in the present... Give me something optimistic and hopeful about the future to dream about...
There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow!! It’s the way we need to live!

Cosmic Rewind nods to the UoE song, Test Track might nod to FtbF... I guess we now need a nod to "Tomorrow's Child" in the SSE redo and for Living with the Land to find a way to reintroduce "Listen to the Land"... the 80s child in me would be very happy...
There were allegedly plans for both at some point. No excuse for them not to do it at The Land at the minimum, that ride is in need of a little refresh anyway

Listen might come back sooner than you think.

As DreamfinderGuy said, there were plans for Tomorrow's Child that kinda never materialized. Maybe in SSE 5.
