News Test Track to be reimagined

Same. The ride as it exists is around 4 minutes long. And I doubt they would slow down much of the thrill elements. Going to be very interesting to see how they put in show scenes / story beats along the existing track.

As much as I would absolutely adore show scenes and AAs to be added to the ride, I don't anticipate any substantial references to WoM or an aspiration to be that kind of experience besides bringing back the song.

Yeah, I would largely agree. The kind of experience WoM offered doesn't lend itself to the experience that Test Track inherently is.

I could see it being filled with practical effects and set pieces that have a sense of grandeur that absolutely do not exist in its' current iteration.

Any AA's would floor me. But I do think that it has the potential to be the best version of the ride yet.

I could more easily see them adding some WoM-like elements to the queue and pre-show, like a history of automobiles and then you board the ride to experience the latest in EV technology (while riding in an electric vehicle that was designed and built with 25 year old EV technology) or something like that.

I’ve said it before in the thread, but if they’re not modifying the track layout, I don’t see them adding AAs. Maybe some amusing projections, but not AAs.

Bringing back a personable narrator, fully dimensional sets, and It’s Fun To Be Free seem like table stakes to be able to claim they’re “looking back at World of Motion”. Anything beyond that is awesome & desirable, but unexpected.

The Tesla Model Y is a compact SUV that weighs between 4,154 and 4,155 lbs.
Is that weight with and without a bottle of water in the cup holder?
So what about this will evoke World of Motion, I wonder….?

Animatronics and a history of transportation?
The last version did with a pseudo progress city model and the classic EPCOT transportation pavilion logo all over the attraction. The actual vibe though is vastly different. World of Motion was a far more whimsical attraction than the current version of Test Track.

You could have both...Whimsical, thrilling, old school Disney...they can do it...but this current design trend for attractions seems to be aimed at "good enough" rather than really great...

True, but if GM wants whimsical and thrilling they will get it, their money. Will be interesting to see what exactly they do.

Yeah but the current version is so much more fun lol
I think the pre-show of the current Test Track is very befitting of classic EPCOT. I think a big chunk of the ride is cold and sterile.

If they had integrated the designs into the ride itself a bit better (perhaps even poking some fun at the ridiculousness of some of the designs) that would be great. This redo had the potential to be a showcase for the Next Gen ride integration and it really missed the mark.

It would be pretty easy to do a quick ride through the history of transportation. The “rough roads” could be early autos on unpaved roads, build and build until arriving “the future is now” and you speed out of the building onto the high speed portion.

Each section could have show scenes - some having some nods to world of motion scenes.

I love that idea...but do you think they will be more focused on an environmental/Electric Vehicle technology message than anything historic or fun?
