That really wasn’t a major scope of work. It is also what The Little Mermaid was supposed to cost over a decade ago before they spent an extra $50 million trying to fix it.
Just to help me visualise it though, when you say Pixar Pier was $100 million, what did that cover?

Hopefully it is the start of a trend with quality Epcot ride redo’s. Honestly, in general, I hope more rides get the refresh treatment rather than total retheme.
if test track is massively successful, it might get disney to realize that "epcot" stuff is in demand, and invest in that. Hell we might actually see a new JII in that case

Hoping the slightly longer than anticipated timeline is indicating lots of elaborate sets. Interesting to hear they will be testing throughout the first half of the year. I wonder if that’s any indication to the completeness of the interior by that point, considering that’s when testing begins to occur

In a new Disney Parks Blog post, Disney now has the Test Track reopening set for late summer 2025:

Get ready to feel the thrill of the open road, the wind in your hair, and nothing but adventure ahead! Test Track presented by General Motors is making its return lap late summer 2025. Walt Disney Imagineering has been working with General Motors on an all-new storyline – you’ll want to be all buckled in for an adventure. You might even see cars returning to the track (for testing…at Test Track…nice) with their new look early in the year!

So it's GM now rather than just Chevrolet?

Do we think they’re going back to GM as the sponsor? Would be an interesting choice as they’ve already marketed it as staying under the Chevy brand. I wouldn’t read into press releases saying they’re working with GM because naturally they would be, Chevy is just a GM division

Edit: Didn’t realize they’re saying “presented by General Motors” now. Strange choice of words, maybe they are going back to the whole thing being under GM
It's not strange at all as it was worded the same way it was for WoM..

Scott Gustin is also saying test track will be presented by General Motors. I think they may have actually dropped the Chevrolet as the main sponsor?

Chevrolet is a division of GM.

Why are people treating them like they're two different companies?
Because some of the posters have no memory of GM being a public facing brand itself. The switch to Chevy was part of GM effectively killing GM as a public facing identifier. There are still some old dealership signs out there with a hole from where they removed the GM signage. We haven’t really seen the GM brand make a comeback, so this still sticks out as something different.

It also means they’re going to slap the meh 2021 gm logo everywhere.
