News Test Track to be reimagined

64.9 miles per hour feels a lot faster with the wind in your hair than it does driving through an enclosed tunnel.

If you mean creating a huge building to house the entire back area AND the track, it would have been insainly expensive to basically build a giant oblong dome roughtly the size of wonders of life for one show scene visible for maybe 15 seconds that would be slightly difficult for people on the outside seats to even see and that most people wouldn't be focused on... and still would have diminished the feeling of speed on the track for what it actually is.
Could add a canopy like Tron over it and then it would deliver the same effect. But spending money on the outside is the least of anybody's concerns. Put the $$$ in the inside where it is needed.

If giving it the MK people-movie treatment would allow it to operate in most weather, I'd be all for that. Maybe they could even blast you with fans to make you feel like you're going faster like they do on the TOT drop from below.

Question:
Obviously completely enclosing the finale to build a show scene no one would pay attention to is a waste of money.
But what about once you re-enter the building? Is there any room where even a bit of a model with a screen behind it could be reasonably able to pull off the centercore idea? I’d take expanding the entry tunnel too if possible. Might be a cool idea, and would give the experience more closure than “ok themings done now when you come back the ride will be over lol”

I've always wondered why they didn't just include slightly higher, solid guardrails on either side of the outdoor track to better hide backstage views. Is greater clearance around the vehicle necessary when going that quickly? Just doing that and then having the rails drop down a bit when banking around the Test Track emblem seems like it would enhance the appearance quite a bit. Replacing the emblem with a City of Tomorrow vignette as suggested above would indeed be nice, and perhaps more durable than the current pavement that sometimes looks pretty shabby?

I wonder if crowd wise they can onlu have one (old man term) future world attraction closed at once. So the attraction with a sponsor leapfrogs all those that dont. And they dont feel they have the capacity abilities to close another.
This is how we got the Horizons Extra Magic Years. Although WOL was actually open back then...I guess everything went out the window with only M:S and TT open on that side of the park during the UoE -> GOTG conversion.

I have no clue but I'm wondering if the noise of the cars would be too loud for riders if there were solid guardrails since the air couldn't be pushed through the openings in the guardrails? Really grasping at straws here but it's a guess.

I love the design your own vehicle part of the current Test Track. But I feel like it hasn’t worked properly in a long time once you’re on the ride.

It didn't work for us in 20-and-friggin'-13.

Why can’t GM help Tomorrowland speedway?!

One is a headliner attraction in a park and the other is the leading cause of CM headaches and has a third of the community begging for its close.

We better get Pig Man back.

When the subject of the possibility of fitting any manner of show scene into the current ride setup, I feel like the brake sequences could be a place to put crash scenes with it set up like the car is stopping from crashing into them.

Ok, this is veering too much into an analysis of transportation and resources that has almost nothing to do with the topic at hand. Test Track 3 will focus on whatever GM/Chevy wants it to focus on.

Sorry, didn't read all the posts here....
But is this blue sky?
Also, is this money that could have been used for SSE instead? Cause it needs it more IMO.
