Test Track refurb???

The simple and sad fact is that the situation at WDW in regards to show maintenance has escalated to such a dire level that it is both realistic and actually expected for even brand new rides to soon develop broken show elements. The new Little Mermaid ride was said to already be showing some signs of problematic show elements. Refurbs in the recent past have also failed to correct some of the more glaring show elements that plague the rides (Big Thunder and the previous Splash Mountain refurbs for example). Unless something changes very soon, I don't think it should come as any surprise that people expect Test Track 2.0 to experience show issues in the near future (sounds like some of these elements are already having some issues via comments from Martin and others here). I applaud these people for bringing these issues up, they shouldn't be disregarded or swept under the rug.

Funny, that is what we are trying to get TDO to do.

There, is that better?
Well said. It would be an original idea (or at least one not practiced for about 15 or so years) for TDO to maintain their parks properly.

And hey, I am glad the attraction got a nice refurb that was a retheme that was ultimately payed for and allows the attraction to operate with less upkeep. Virtually Zero or literally zero(if you want to count doors and small such and such that is fine) physical set effects to work with. Everything was done with lighting or projections for the most part. A win win. It was basically free to them and allows them to run it at a cheaper cost.

I think it is decent but it really does not make the ride experience better, it is just a different angle for the same idea. Sleek versus industrial.

That being said even if it was fantastic, the top of this page comes up with the idea that the best we can do if nothing else is praise GM for being one of the few original sponsors? Sad times in Disney World indeed.

Attached are some pictures and a video from today. Taken with my iphone and in a rush so forgive the quality. No on ride pictures, wasn't comfortable doing that, but pre and post show. You've been warned if you don't want to spoil the experience.

Ask yourselves this... Once the newness of the visuals wears off... Will you still yearn to repeat the attraction and if so... Which elements will draw you back?

What's the difference between Indy's emv and simply being thrown around in the dark? The integration between what you see and what you feel. Not just in making the movement more believable but to pull you into the story being woven. That connection seems weaker here. The reasons for the start stop.. The reasons for swerving, why am I going back and forth through these switchbacks?

I worry this lack of connecting tissue ultimately diminishes the enjoyment of the ride system (like being thrown around in the dark analogy).
