Test Track and General Motors

The Conundrum

Um Toyota IS being bailed out by the Japanese Government. I believe it was around 3 billion. Not much compared to what GM has received but a lot when their government could not support a mail service

Toyota is still #1 in sales and all of there cars are of high quality. The same cant be said for GM and Chrysler.

If I remember correctly United Technologies didn't exactly have a lot to do with marine biology or anything else related to The Living Seas.

And how are fireworks related to Siemens? It doesn't have to be related to the company. They just want to to get their name out.
Sylvania, the lighting company, is in charge of WS Lighting..?

I know, I know...

Actually, they only passed GM in the last quarter of last year. So far this year they've been passed by Honda, VW, Hyundai, Ford and projected sales for the malibu and camaro alone will pass toyota in the coming quarter. I'm not bashing toyota just to bash them but their quality and reliabilty numbers are nearing GM in the 90's levels.

If you want to look at the 3 most struggeling brands its GM, Chrysler, Toyota

If any car company is going to step up and take over for GM it will probably be the two H's, Honda and Hyundai. They are the only company's expanding sales currently. Those two along with VW are really the only financially viable companies that might be able to step into Test Track and give it the $$$ needed to improve the ride.

The quality of Toyota cars has been and will always be superior to GM/ford/chrylser. Show me some statistics that prove otherwise in terms of reliability, servicing, etc.

Ha...there is nothing worse than getting behind a Camry on the road...its a given in my area that if you get behind a Camry you'll be lucky to get up to the posted Speed Limit. :brick:

And IMO, Nissan is the greatest car company in the world...and the Maxima is the greatest car in the world! Mwa ha ha! :drevil:
A Camry V6 has 268 HP and runs high 14's in the quarter mile.Nissan is ranked very low in realiabilty. I can vouch I own one.

There are lots more out there. Just do a quick search. I found those in the first 30 seconds of looking and decided that it should be enough to prove a point. If you only look at one please look at the top one, it's from two years ago.

The main point: You are right if you are talking about cars up until two-three years ago. Anything newly designed and built after then, Ford and GM are as good, IF NOT BETTER, then Toyota.

As you can probably tell I don't like losing. Sorry for taking up space on this thread.

I'm still going through these links but there is no way cars like the Toyota Prius are "at the same level" as american cars. Anyone with any sense will tell you that the Toyota Sienna, Camry, and Prius are LIGHTYEARS ahead of any american cars in almost every catagory.

Ford/GM/Chrsyler is to Toyota what WDW is to Tokyo Disney resort. There is a clear difference in standards.

Never understood that. What does Honda have to do with Fireworks...?

On a very clinical level, Honda really has nothing to do with fireworks. But I can't think of any major industry that does have anything to do with fireworks. But then...

What did the Florida Citrus Growers have to do with a singing polynesian tiki bird show? Nothing, really.

What did the Monsanto chemical company have to do with a CircleVision 360 film of America? Nothing, really.

What did Pepsi-Cola have to do with a singing robot bear show? Nothing, really.

What did Gulf Oil have to do with a movie about Walt Disney on Main Street USA? Nothing, really.

And those are just the WDW examples I came up with off the top of my head. There's plenty more at Disneyland, like Bank of America sponsoring a musical trip around the world past singing dolls.

Or a small regional airline like Pacific Southwest Airlines sponsoring a CircleVision movie about China, thousands of miles from where their small 737's could ever fly.
(But if you needed to get to San Diego, PSA could get you there with the best looking stewardesses on the West Coast! http://www.jetpsa.com/photos/70s/7010.jpg )

Having a park announcement herald the start of Remember...Dreams Come True Fireworks Spectacular, Presented by Honda isn't any stretch historically or thematically, compared to what WDW and Disneyland have done in the past with incoherent sponsorships.

I believe Subaru is also expanding sales. Don't quote me on that...but I think I heard that somewhere.

However, I'm done here. I'd like to talk about Test Track. Hey, according to everyone's theories.... maybe Test Track will NEVER break down if it is sponsored by Toyota instead of GM.

(Didn't a Buick take the top reliability rating this year?) I believe it stepped over Lexus and Toyota.

:sohappy::ROFLOL:

I thought that's why everyone wanted Honda so bad? Though I'd argue Hyundai, with that warranty, even if it does break down all the time the repairs ar free right?

I think GM's, or Honda's, or Toyota's money - once received spends the same regardless of their vehicle "reliability."

I don't care who sponsors the pavilion (Dae Woo is fine by me) as long as the check clears.
