How much detail are you thinking for the scientist guy? I'm working on some ideas for integrating the Play Disney Parks App into the castle experience, I'll share what I have in the doc when I'm done. I'm thinking we might be served best to present our doc, a technical doc, and maybe 2 guest experience presentations? Or, do you want to include app descriptions in the descriptions of each room/area of the castle? Also, did we ever say where we were wanting the castle to be?

Sounds good for the presentation. I am going to write up an initial post for the final project later today.

The scientist guy could maybe be a puppet, just because we don't have any right now. Or you could have Lord Westley be the scientist considering he is interested in that kind of stuff. I'm drawing inspiration from Leonardi Di Vinci.

I think the Castle should be at Disney Springs. I see other teams putting them in the parks and I think this is a huge mistake. No one's spending the entire night at a theme park in a bar, even if it's brilliantly themed. Not to mention you'd have to constantly adjust times as the parks close differently by the day. The Springs is already an entertaining district that will draw people in, they can spend the day shopping and at night go to the themed nightclub. A perfect end to the day.

I see two possible locations for the Castle, each on the far end of the Springs. I imagine it would work as a weenie for either side.

Goofy and I were talking earlier. Goofy will be taking Yhonsburg. Belmont, Hugeon, and Rowen are already completed. We still have three more houses to fill in though. And then once we finish outlining the story, we’ll get to the presentation and project development itself.

Please contribute to the Google Doc with new characters, backstory, and events. I have set up a wip timeline for the four hour event on the Doc and will post a more formal proposal later in the day.

@ThatGuyFromFlorida As our team leader, what are your thoughts on the trip report presentation format I suggested earlier?
I like it, though it feels a bit similar to the brochure format from project 1.

I like the idea of it being a puppet with Westley maybe helping facilitate activities in the tower?
I think 2 may be the best location option just because 1 is in the location past the more commercial stuff like AMC and Splitsville.

I disagree to be honest... it’s written from guest perspective and is a fun way to highlight the experience in an unusual way. I know it’s been done in a similar way before, but I think it’s a relatively unique way to present that gets our objectives across best.

Love it! I saw your in depth backstory about the Westley’s and can try to do the same with the other houses I worked on... I’ve got a cool idea for the Harthorns that I’m wanting to you around with.

Go ahead!

So one part we should at least address (although the judges have emphasized they don’t want this to be the focus) is the drinks and food. I know @ThatGuyFromFlorida expressed interest in this early so maybe you might want to do this?

Keep in mind this is a bar so the majority of things on the menu should be drinks. A few sides but mostly drinks. It would be helpful to have someone of drinking age work on that (I’m under so I really have no idea what’s good and not).

But in light of the information for House Corvon, I suggest we remove the "Rowen Poison Plan" subplot. Instead of two failed poisonings, we'll just have the Corvons try to kill the Rowens. We could even begin to suspect the Rowens as your classic antagonist but be subverted. The time will be the exact same too, that way there's still a valid excuse for why all the characters leave to greet the arriving party (they have to talk about the poisoning in a secure location before returning to the party 10 mins later).

I think we can do either or. I added it in to add to the convoluted story ala GoT, but if we just want one poisoning subplot, either works.

Now, crazy idea, but what if we baton-switch it and kept both subplots and they both end up working. We could have Prince Andin die of poisoning, suddenly causing a massive stir after Lyla escapes, have the Rowens panic because their plan just went awry with Lyla gone and now they possibly started a war. We could have Mathais panicking, but then he too drops dead from the Corvon plot. With everyone in a total stir, Clayton could drunkenly stumble into the hall and be crowned king (or at least heir) in a true twist/subverting expectations type of move.

We could play it off dramatically or comedically. Obviously, not necessarily what we have to go with, but it could add to the intrigue and also show the unpredictability of Eladore's magic. Just a (admittedly half-drunk) idea

We could do a rushed marriage between Clayton and Penelope? It might come across a little too morbid, or it could be reallllly funny
We could play it off as super humorous and have all the dukes just run in and huddle in the middle of the room, chattering indistinctly, then have Clayton come drunkenly stumbling in and Penelope walk in and they all decide to host the wedding right now. I think if done to amp up the humor after the really dark turn it took, it could be really successful, especially to a crowd of drunks after 4 hours of intrigue
