This is amazing!! I love the rooms and the background, so I think story development is what our focus should be over the next day or two so that we have a consistent storyline to tell throughout the rooms like the Adventurers Club did so well.

I agree. I'd like to give some other members of the team the ability to create some characters and their stories. There can be multiple plot-lines interconnecting with each other within the party, provided none take up too much importance (the main story should be about the Wedding and true love blah blah blah).

Last night I posted about the Hugeons (Royal Family) and the Belmonts (Lords of the Southlands). Now according to my map that leaves us five more regions, the Dukes of Eastvale, Corvana, Emeraldis, and Rulevaul alongside the Archbishop of Yohnsburg. Feel free to change the names if you would prefer: I randomly came up with them yesterday.

The Lords of Rulevaul are the Rowens. I'm imagining them right now as uptight, by-the-rules characters (see where I got the name lol) who were the only ones 52 years back to not support Henry's Conquest. We have two options from here, either they have since becoming total backers of the crown regardless of the dynasties and are very excited for the marriage OR this is a scheme, and they are seeking to get revenge somehow by getting close ties with the Hugeons. Possibly poisoning someone and leaving Lyla and their Lord heir to Eladin?

The other regions I know nothing about, but I'm thinking we flesh them out on the same scale as the Belmonts. Give them histories and an overall objective, but not to the scale of the Hugeons and Rowens.

See the Wayward Isles out in the corner? I was thinking we could say the guests are all travelers from there, across the Sunken Sea. That would explain why we dress so differently and have never been to Eladore before.

We can also add some characters outside the houses, like traders or diplomats from foreign kingdoms, members of the King's Inner Council, or tenders of the Castle itself. There's lots of room to worldbuild!

I love the idea of the guests being from the Wayward Isles! I could work on Yohnsburg and maybe work on the sorts of things guests would be doing/involved with? I think it’d be cool for our presentation to be a mock experience at our themed bar, using those rooms you mentioned earlier.
I think it’d be a more interesting story for the Rowens to be trying to sabotage the Hugeons than have them be total backers of the family.
I think we need to be careful that our story is vast but not overwhelming. The Adventurers Club only had about 25 characters total, and only 9ish primary characters... just so we’re trying to keep scale relatively similar.

That’s true. I’m thinking this will be on a grander scale, but many of the smaller points and conflicts won’t immediately evident.

And yes, we should try to add more interactive elements. I’m thinking have the castle be secretly magical could play into that. Maybe the Disney App could supply riddles that when solved show off some “magic” (an animatronic)?

Trying desperately not copy England, Norway, Gryffindor, and the Lannisters by no gold lions and red backdrop. Shocking, I know!

House Rowen is the eldest of the major noble houses, claiming descent from a skilled Sellsword, who according to legend, saved Eladin the Builder from a wayward arrow by the brush of his shield. For this noble deed the family was raised to great lord, controlling the Lands of Rulevaul.

As the Most Ancient House of Eladin slowly fell to decay, the Rowens were the only family that did not wish for revolution. After the war, though stripped of much gold for their loyalty to the Eladins and not Hugeons, King Henry did not remove them from their lands. They are now marrying into the Hugeon Dynasty, for King Henry feels they desperately need credibility tying them back to more ancient times. The Rowens, in turn, would benefit with “royal blood” and as the Kings’ historical “Sacred Shield” are more than happy to marry.

At least, that’s what is spoken aloud. It is rumored the Rowens still hold a grudge, believing the Hugeons to not be true kings, and that their shield is truly pointed in another direction. We will have to see whether this rumor holds any credibility...
  • Lord Mathias Rowen: The 40 year old lord and a brilliant military strategist who proved decisive in the War for Eastvale. He has had three marriages: the first, to the Duke of Corvona, died in childbirth; the second, to the Duke of Eastvale, died to a bandit raid (which in turn triggered the War for Eastvale), and is now scheduled to marry the 20 year old Lyla Hugeon (there are a few more morally righteous characters who express dislike for this). Lord Rowen is cold and calculating, said to have turned bitter after the Eastvale Incident, he sees this marriage as purely political.
  • Sir Charlie Rowen: Distinct opposite of his brother. Loves to tell strange and wacky stories. Claims to partake in the tourney, but makes a huge fool of himself when he slips in the mud and is then removed from the event. Later returns to host games of charades. At the very beginning of the event, it is possible to hear him arguing backstage with Mathias, the older brother telling him they have to do it and the younger opposing. This is a plan to poison Prince Andin, thus once the marriage concludes Mathias will be heir apparent. The Andin poison plan occurs at 10:00, nearly succeeding until Andin’s Attendant notices the color is a tad off. Thus, the Rowen Plan fails. None of the characters know who planted it though, keeping this discovery an Easter-egg.
  • Lady Penelope Rowen: Charles’ older daughter, enjoys gossiping in the ballroom with her sister.
  • Lady Arianne Rowen: Charles’ younger daughter, enjoys gossiping in the ballroom with her sister.

I’d love it if you guys would also add to the story. It might look intimidating but I’m really creating this on the fly. Just read through my earlier posts to make sure things line up. We have three more families to make alongside the castle staff and diplomats from around the world.

Or if you’d prefer, you can have a go at creating noble family banners. Here is an excellent site to work off. Just don’t use the GOT Show Tab. http://www.jointherealm.com/sigil.html

In terms of presentation, although I was initially going to try building this in Google Slides, upon further thought, and given the intricacies of the concept, I think it would be better to focus moreso on prose. My suggestion is we do a trip report forum thread, with each of us posting our own “perspective” on the night. Each of us can create our own voice as attendants of the club reporting what they saw, and each of us will be in different places at different times, showing us different angles of the story.

If confused, read this, though the project is confused the presenting style is fantastic: https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads...a-team-princes-adventure.952909/#post-8553747

But I’m thinking adding more character and variation to each post, a la @TheOriginalTiki ’s final for SA6: https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/the-sorcerers-apprentice-season-6-odyssey.962736/post-9175046

The banners of the extinct House Eladin can only be found in the Library and Dungeons, hidden from the present.

And then the official banners of the Royal Wedding -

I literally cannot get over how awesome this looks already! What are the other houses that need write ups? If nobody else is wanting to take one, I can take another one!

Sure! The reason I'm not taking the others up is that I don't want to seem intimidating. I'd be happy to have you take another house!

My suggested names if you have a better one please use.
  • House Harthorn -- Dukes of Eastvale
  • House Corvon -- Dukes of Corvona
  • House Westley -- Dukes of Emeraldis

Also, does anyone have any idea how long the Adventurer's Club lasted? I think it stopped at midnight for the Fireworks show but I don't know when it started.

I'll put 8:00 as the start time because I don't want out actors to tire. Four hours seem like enough time. Then there would be three entry points:
  • 8:00, beginning of the club
  • 9:30, right before the tourney
  • 11:00, near the end of the night
