I have no idea whether or not that rumor is true, but you have to consider the source, the same one that claimed the DVC rumor for the Grand Floridian was completely false.

As much as I would hate to see B&B Live on Stage depart, a Tangled show would be a great replacement and very popular with guests!

It would be even better to add a show to DHS instead of just replacing one with another.

I understand where you're coming from, but shows and all live entertainment really are never meant to last forever. All shows and parades need to be updated and/or replaced regularly, or it stagnates. BatB has had its (long long long) run, time for something new.

However, I'm skeptical of this rumor. What doesn't make sense is that if they were producing the show for both coasts, I would think they would want to make fairly identical productions, to save on restaging costs, etc. It's just how Disney tends to work. The thing is that the Hyperion and the Theater of the Stars are not comparable venues at all. They're not even from the same era of stage tech. I don't believe TotS has any lifts/traps, it's scenic abilities are minimal at best, I think it has very little fly space, and it most certainly doesn't have the spectacular flying rig used for A Whole New World (not that I can see what it'd be used for in Tangled). If they designed the show for the specifications of TotS, I think it would look very lackluster on the Hyperion stage.

That's a very good point about the 2 theaters. Hyperion has a fly rail and Theater of the Stars does not. One show would play in a dark theater and the other would not.

This is an excellent point! I think a more comparable theater at DLR would be the Fantasyland Theater stage, which is outdoors, not sure of the tech stuff but Fantasyland Theater has a lot going for it tech wise(at least it seems) not that DLR currently uses it to its full capability... This is exactly what I was going to post. The deck at the TotS is rudimentary at best, while the Hyperion is capable of handling fairly elaborate productions.

I like the idea, but I don't it's bittersweet. I would absolutly love for Tangled to get it's own show, but I would hate for BatB to leave, it's such a great show. Regardless of what happens, I would much rather have VotlM replaced before BatB.

I think there's a much truth to this rumor as to the ones floating around about the Mine Coaster being pulled from the FLE.....

I saw this rumor tweeted out by Walt Disney World News Today. They have been a very reliable source in the past.

Tangled was a fantastic film and definitely needs to come to DHS. If I had to choose, I'd rather it replace VotLM(which actually would make more sense IMO b/c it's indoor like Hyperion Theater, and TLM ride coming to FL will tell the same story, so it could seem monotonous). But if Tangled came to Sunset Blvd. that would be awesome too!

But would Disney replace one show, and keep the other? Which seems most logical?

Not old, just vintage.
I would love a Tangled production as long as it is done on the scale of Nemo The Musical rather than Voyage of the Little Mermaid. I love BatB and would be sad to see it go. However, it has had a very long and successful run so I can't get too sad about it.

Something that could be done to get Theater of the Stars up to speed with Hyperion is to enclose it (and add air conditioning!) like they did for the Tarzan to Nemo shift. In the enclosure process they could upgrade the stage to include lifts and add a fly rail since there would now be a real ceiling/roof. I wouldn't even care if they left the bench seating behind rather than install theater seats to save on costs.

I can't see this happening. Tangled hasn't proven it's a classic yet.

And Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast were when their respective stage shows premiered? Bad logic.

Not to mention WDW has had shows for Tarzan, Hunchback, Nemo...

The 'Theater of the Star' and the 'Hyperion' are not comparable venues, but what about the theater that's housing the 'Voyage of the Little Mermaid,' it doesn't compare in design, but it does as far an indoor theater goes.

When has that ever stopped Disney? What about previous stage shows based on D*ck Tracy, Pocahontas and Hunchback of Notre Dame showing up at the same time as the movies did in theatres?

"Classic" has nothing to do with it, the movie did well in theatres , great on video (it's the #1 DVD of 2011 selling over 6 million copies so far in the US and millions more on Blu-ray) and Rapunzel is an official member of the "Princess" product line now. There's a new short coming up and an event in London to push the title even more (http://www./2011/06/rapunzel-to-off...remony-will-wear-stolen-tiara-in-theme-parks/. A stage show at DHS or DCA would not suprise me.
