A The Disney Blog;
@TheDisneyBlog: Latest rumor is that a Rapunzel musical will replace Beauty & The Beast at Hollywood Studios? Thoughts?

And again __________;
@__________: So, those Tangled musical rumors we talked about a while ago are circling again... looks like Beauty and the Beast's time is up...

Not the most credible hence why i asked if anyone had heard anything :wave:

The first was responded to by another site that these rumors have been going on for a year now. There doesn't appear to be anything to it currently.

I think Tangled could be a good replacement for Voyage of the Little Mermaid, since it's so short. You would need something more substantial to replace Beauty and the Beast, though.

It would be fantastic if they staged a Mary Poppins musical in the Theater of the Stars. It is a classic Disney film that features timeless music from the Sherman brothers, and also has a successful adaptation on Broadway currently. As a draw to the Studios it would represent the worlds of stage and screen. It may require too large a cast of equity performers though. Oh well, one can dream. . .

I am really suprised they have not taken "Hollywood Studios" and used all of the sound stages to do many of the Disney musicals there for people to see... Even the shortend versions. It would also help with crowd control, because masses of people would be in watching shows. They could bring back Hunchback as well. How fun would that be?

IMO VLM could go. That theatre can also use a good cleaning. It smells like mildew. I also think Nemo can go. I know I may be in the minority but I found that utterly ridiculous and boring. I would love to see Tangled brought in but I would hate to BatB go. Put Tangled in the theatre. Decorate the walls with vines, flowers, trees and sunlight.

Indeed, this show/movie has the kind of staying power and potential that has surprisingly been skipped in Disney's theme parks. The music is catchy and fun and the story itself is enjoyable as well. It would seem to be perfect for DHS.

+1

Great idea. I really like the idea of it being at DTD as an alternate.

Yes! The music is so infectious, and would really add a component of classic Disney to the park. As a movie it was such a groundbreaking film for Walt and the company. In my opinion that earns it a place somewhere in the Kingdom. I may be a bit biased though, as you can tell from my screen name.
