On the two branches off each side of the castle walls, I do not mind the tournament look. It's just not great either. The European aesthetic would have been nice, but now with Fantasyland forest, it might seem out of place. The Forest could have been better fleshed out, housing a spectacular attraction, which Ariels is not. Nice but not "must book a trip now" nice.

The problem is that with it's several different design types it is less of a cohesive, immersive, magical land which amounts to more than the sum of it's parts... and more of an amusement park or a series of well designed "sets."

I have a feeling they should be aiming for the former... and they won't get that with 4 different aesthetics going on in one land.

To be fair, I was concerned that the Tangled Area would stick out like a sore thumb from the old Alpine Village, but it seems to work from the photos I've seen and it looks like there was an effort to make some visual linkages.

For example, the bell-shaped parapets echo each other in the adjacent old and new sections (far left and far right of this: http://s231432788.onlinehome.us/lotion/pics/SS20130308-WDWMK/big/P01-4.JPG), as does the cream stucco coloring (http://s231432788.onlinehome.us/lotion/pics/SS20130308-WDWMK/big/P01-5.JPG). The trees help as well and hopefully will really grow in over the years (helping obscure the Tower from LSQ).

I also see architectural linkages among the other 3 sections you mentioned. For example, The Wall is a visual/thematic bridge (as well as a divider) between the Old Courtyard and the Fantasy Forest (as it is a part of both) and also links the new forest area to the original Cinderella Castle centerpiece. Another example: the Circus area uses the same low boulder-wall elements (http://s231432788.onlinehome.us/lotion/pics/SS20120615-WDWCircus/big/P03-0001.JPG) that are used at the new Pooh queue and elsewhere in the Forest.

As an overall environment, I think the new Fantasyland as a whole is marked improvement. Changing out all the current and future tournament tent facades would be a great thing, but I won't hold my breath.

Ah I see what you mean. Yeah the most pressing issues are the tents.

Good analysis. I think if the shingles on the restrooms were of the same colours as Pinocchio that would help too, as would doing something about the still plain "castle wall" on the Small World show building.

I think at this point they also really need to do something about the flat, plain pavement in the castle courtyard that sticks out so badly against the other surfaces in the land. Something like interlocking bricks would be nice.

S/he told me to four-letter-word myself because I'm from New York.
That is the actions of a 59 year old? LOL.... yea, well I doubt he/she will be around much longer... Shocked the word BANNED isn't under it's name already...

As for these bathrooms, yea they are just bathrooms, nothing to get excited over... However, this is the attention to detail we all have been begging Disney to get back to in WDW... Now, if that attention would only transfer to new attractions, not just the facades of the attractions and bathrooms, then WDW will be back on the right path...

I think the new area looks nice, but I won't wet my pants over it.. Guess I won't have to huh? They are bathrooms after all... :)
