The cynic in me thinks the line about insurance is a fib because I've paid for other people's stays at various locations including a campground. Granted the site was a tent site but still

Methinks it was a fib too.

By agreeing to give them a credit, the campground can now re-rent it. In fact, it’s already showing as available on their website.

We’re down to our final 3 days here. Time to clear out the leftovers and cook up the stuff in the freezer.

Swiss and steakummms on crispy French bread, with grilled peppers and onions.

We have a visitor coming tonight. I hope he hasn’t eaten.

That kind of stinks that you couldn’t use their site, seems simple enough to transfer it. Especially since it is because of a death. Seems like the campground would have some sympathy. I’m glad that you were able to get them a credit. I’m sure they appreciate it.

It was their daughter’s husband’s (their son-in-law’s) sister. She died in hospital two days after giving birth, of an amniotic embolism. She was only 36.

Bill and Lorraine have headed home to look after their grandson so the daughter and her husband can go be with his family.

Such a tragedy.

In Tennessee it is gourmet. Truth be known, I like me some fried chicken when I don't have to make it.

If it's the same friend they told me about...

He's apparently been without air-conditioning for the past couple weeks, and is basically a sluggish, walking puddle of sweat until the new one comes in next week.

Has recently discovered some RVs come with indoor stairs and 2nd stories. Really awesome.

May or may not be going to war with Canada soon in mini golf depending on weather. (Has forces ready just in case).

Says hello and hope you are doing well, and having a cooler summer than we are...
...though cooler, northern temps coming in next week so THANK YOU!

Did we get up and go to Paula Deen’s?
Yes. Yes, we did.

Was it worth it?
It was good … but nowhere near as good as the Flapjack House just up the hill.

Want a window seat? Wait until they seat you at a ridiculously small 2-seater booth … and then ask for one. (I don’t try to be annoying. It just happens sometimes.)



These were good, but very heavy and very dense.


Hash brown casserole. I had a nibble. Nowhere near as good as Flapjack House.


Scrambled eggs. Exceptional!


Applewood smoked bacon and piggies in a blanket. I had one slice of bacon. Even by bacon standards, it was too salty.


Apple cinnamon French toast. Good, but not what I was expecting. More like a bread pudding than a French toast. Crazy sweet.


Fruit. We ordered seconds.

Some shots from The Island. I don’t see us making it back there tomorrow, so this was good-bye for now.

We did some shopping at the gift shop. New merch since we were last there, so that was nice.

After we left The Island, we stopped at the Nike Outlet (on Teaster Lane vs at Tanger Outlets) and picked up a couple of shirts.

Back to the RV where the pup acted like she hadn’t seen us in months. If you want unconditional love and someone who is so excited to see you every single time you walk in the door, get a dog. Big dog, little dog, manly dog, fou-fou dog, doesn’t matter, it will love you more than it loves itself.

Daisy has picked up new skills this trip. She is now able to get up and down the open riser metal steps; she can get on and off the very high bed by herself (although she still expects to be lifted up and down if you’re available), and today she figured out that she can fit under the bathroom door. (Totally Mike’s fault for not giving her enough attention before heading to the washroom. )



And now it’s time for coffee. Good coffee, not the incredibly strong, put hair on your chest carp they served at the restaurant.
