Take me through YOUR "perfect" day at WDW

So, we all have our strategies, our favorite rides, restaurants, shops, resorts, etc. I've always been curious about how other people (particularly people who "Get it", like you all on these boards) would spend the perfect day in WDW. Be sure to include where your favorite resort would be. What would you first do when you wake up? What's your perfect breakfast going to be? What parks are included in your perfect day?... This one especially because i'm curious to see how much this one will vary.... i expect some to say that 1 park in a day is perfect for them, maybe some will say 2 parks, maybe some do more? Try and do this assuming we all for that day have the deluxe dining plan, so give me your meal choices, all assuming you could get ADR's and at any time you wanted. What shows/parades are you picking for your perfect day? I made the question broad on purpose because you can take it in any direction you would like. Bottom line....You are given 1 day at WDW to spend any way you'd like, have at it!:)

Me, i'm staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I'm going over for a nice breakfast at the Crystal Palace, before MK opens to regular guests. That stroll down Main St. when it's empty, there is nothing better. I'm going to stay at MK and ride POTC, HM, Splash, BTMR, and Jungle Cruise before leaving for a nap. I'm having lunch at Le Cellier (never been) upon my return to the parks, Epcot as my 2nd choice. I'm strolling around the Showcase after lunch with a Bass Ale in hand. I'll have dinner at Rose and Crown outside and stay there for my viewing of Illuminations. I'll hop on over to DTD and enjoy a nice cigar at Sosa's along with a beverage, while i'm people watching. Then return "home" to retire for the evening!

My one day would be...staying at the Grand Floridian with a view of the Magic Kingdom. It would be at the beginning of December so all the holiday decorations would be up, but it wouldn't have the crazy crowds of Christmas week. We would wake up, have breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table, wander around the shops on Main Street, and take the train all the way around the park. Leave MK around 10 and head over to EPCOT for the opening of World Showcase @11. Wander through the Japanese gift shop Mitsukoshi, eat lunch at Tokyo Dining, and backtrack to Italian chocolate shop and have a Caffarel Conetto for dessert. Walk through the rest of World Showcase and hit MouseGears on our way out. Take millions of pictures of regional holiday decorations all throughout World Showcase. Go back to MK and ride Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain and Haunted Mansion at night. Eat taco salad for dinner at Pecos Bill's, with probably another stop at Pinocchio Haus for Figaro Fries for the hubby :) Take a million more pictures, this time of MK holiday decorations.

Head back to room, and watch Wishes from our hotel room. Put in Beauty and the Beast DVD and fall asleep as soon as the magical forest music starts playing :animwink:

My perfect day... Wake up at the Polynesian. Ride the monorail with my wife and 2 kids to the Magic Kingdom... getting there early for our traditional 8:05 ADR at the Crystal Palace. Get into the Magic Kingdom as soon as they will let us through the gates. Walk down Main Street without a crowd. Spend a few minutes taking pictures in front of the Castle before checking in at the Crystal Palace.

After that, we would spend the entire day at the Magic Kingdom. Once we get there, my wife and I let the kids (now 7 & 9) take the lead on what we ride next, etc. The day is perfect to me because we are there together as a family and spend the day enjoying our favorite of the Disney parks. We know that we have an entire week (at least) of fun and relaxation ahead of us.

We start every trip this way. While the other days at Disney are great, the first full day always seems to be the day we enjoy the most. The realization that we are back at Disney, and the traditional first day breakfast / walk up main Street makes for a perfect day, no matter what we ride/see/eat the rest of the day.

HA! Good try Riverside. First of all, ANYTHING Dallas Cowboys i'm eliminating right off the bad, for obvious reasons (points to avatar).

Let's keep it in the parks though, and leave out the $1 bills for now

My perfect trip

My wife and I and our best friends. 2 BR at Wilderness Lodge Villas.

10 days of sunny 70-degree days and 60-degree nights.

Record low park attendance, but with late hours and all nighttime entertainment running.

Lots of rest time, boating, carriage rides, monorail cruising.

Deluxe Dining Plan with no ADRs required - just walk up and eat whatever sounds good at the time.

Gosh, it would just be so nice to go without having my commando itinerary and touring plans and rigid schedule. That'll be the day....

For me, it's just being there. I wouldn't really care where I stay or what the weather is like (In a perfect world, I'd be at the Grand Floridian and the weather would be in the 90's every day).

I'd just be happy strolling around the parks, taking in the sights and sounds. Sure beats being stuck in an office, day dreaming about being there!

Love the responses so far guys, keep em' coming!

Russ, you and I seem to share the same feelings on that empty walk down Main St. toward your breakfast at Crystal Palace. With the music playing and that view, is there anything better???

Matty i agree, just being there in general is enough for me. But i've always wondered about if i didn't have to worry about ADR's, Crowds, weather, etc... How would i spend that 1 day?

For me, it is staying at any of the DVC resorts in a villa, On first day to wake up around 8-8:30 make coffee, grab something for breakfast. Get ready and showered, have the rest of the family up and going w/ no arugment. Then head to the park of choice hopefully MK, get on a few rides, grab lunch, then a few more rides, a show, day parade. Then have dinner at the Castle, after dinner maybe a ride or 2 then catch Spectro Magic, then wishes, then once the good night starts head back to the resort.

Well, it would be me and my wife, a huge Disney fan in her own right, spending the day together at Magic Kingdom. we'd get there early, watch the welcome show and walk down Main Street together.

I'm sure we would hit our favorite rides thorughout the day and grab a quick snack or snacks along the way.

We'd watch the parades, meet some of our favorite characters and find a place to enjoy a relaxing dinner.

We'd finish the night with Spectro and Wishes and call it a night. That would be a perfect day!

My perfect day would be really nothing more than I already do when Im there. I guess if I had unlimited time and funds here is what I would do...

Id be staying in The Grand Floridian. I'd wake up on my own. Thats going to be around 9-10am. Go to the cafe and get some drinks to get our morning started, come back to the room and shower then head to try Tonga Toast for the first time!

After that is done we head to Splash and BTMR. Hit up Peter Pan, Philhar Magic. Make our way through the castle for Tomorrowland. Go on Space Moutain, CoP, Buzz, and finish with TTA.

On the way out stop at Caseys for a hot dog! Jump the Monorail for Epcot. Once in Epcot we have dinner at Le Celier well EARLY dinner. Then ride Soarin, walk through World Showcase ride Maelstrom. Go on Test Track, UoE, SSE, and back to the Monorail to MK to catch Spectromagic, and Wishes.

After Wishes watch Kiss Goodnight, take some pictures and head back to GF to swim for a while and then go to bed!

It IS awesome. :animwink:

Well, let's see. This upcoming Saturday should be about as perfect a day as they come. We'll wake up at WL (early), have breakfast in the room then take the boat to MK for the opening show. We'll ride all of our faves: HM, Pirates, BTMRR, Peter Pan, Mickey's Philharmagic, Splash, etc. Probably stay until lunch, then head back to WL for a swim. After cleaning up, we'll head to the Poly for dinner at 'Ohana at 5:15. After an awesome meal, we'll go back to MK for an hour or two, until we have to be at the Contemporary for the Pirates and Pals Wishes cruise. We'll meet Captain Hook, Smee, and Peter Pan and see an awesome fireworks display. Then, it's a boat ride back to WL to pass out and head out again early the next day. :sohappy:

I would wake up at the Poly, facing MK. We would ride the monorail to MK where we would get to participate in the opening ceremony. Then we would head off for some Fantasyland /Tomorrowland action, followed by lunch at LTT. Then we would hop the monorail to Epcot, where the little kids in our group would partner up with a big kid for some"buddy time" and the grown up would have some grown up time in world showcase. We would all meet back up and ride SSE and then take the monorail and have dinner at Kona. After that it woul be back to MK for Wishes, a 2nd showing of Spectro and EMH. We would close out the MK with the goodnight kiss, monorail back to the Poly, crawl to our beds and pass out, tired but very happy.

I know it would be cool to stay at a deluxe resort, but my perfect day would start out at Riverside. That is where we stayed during our honeymoon and most recent trip. Just the memories....Of course, then up at the crack of dawn for a run, grab some coffee on the way back to the room. Shower up and at rope drop for Animal Kingdom. Stroll back to the Safari, catching all the animals before it gets to hot out.

Next off to Dinosaur, ride that a couple times, and then jump on Everest (first time, not a big coaster fan, but will do it for the wifey).

Then off to Epcot, ride TT a couple times, then head over to Soarin' . After that, grab a drink in France, and then jump the bus to MK. Take in all the rides we can before dark, watch wishes, and then off to the boardwalk for an amazing night at Jelly Rolls!

I agree with you guys that just being there makes it a perfect day but if I could make it better here is how I would go about it.
I would be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge because I have always wanted to stay there. I would go for breakfast in The Castle with my wife and 2 little girls, that is the high point for them to be able to interact with the characters. Then hit all the major rides there, Space Mountain and Splash Mountain for me. Then head out and over to DHS. Once we get in head to the Sci-Fi Dine In, my favorite. After that hit some more rides, especially TOT and RNRC. Finish the night off with Fantasmic. That would be the perfect day for me.
Just realized that I still have 130 days to go!!!
