We've been talking in a private conversation but @PerGronStudio suggested that I move the jewelry shop (Sanik's Trinkets) from the Mines of Moria section to the Rivendell section. I can change aspects of the storyline and experience to reflect more on the elves than the dwarfs (because let's face it, jewelry is more of the elves' thing than the dwarves; their thing is armory and weaponry). Would that be okay with you, @Outbound and @NigelChanning09? Rivendell has yet to have a shop anyway.
It’s fine by me!

Here is the attraction write-up. I've got some art on the way, but please critique this so that I can get a final draft up tomorrow.

My rough draft of the Shire fair grounds, this draft only has the overview and restaurants. (Shops and theater descriptions are 50% done). Would love some feedback, especially when it comes to lore.

I'll post the other half of the rough draft soon.

EDIT: Updated to have a walkthrough of the festival and descriptions of the shops. The Whitfoot Theater Presents The Rise and Fall of the Lord of the Rings description coming soon.

EDIT 2: The rough draft is finished, the Whitfoot Theater now has a description.

Does anyone know where I can view Mumbai Disneyland? The link just tells me that the “Publication is Closed”.
It doesn't have the Frontierland but almost the entire park is here

Alright, good morning team! Successful day yesterday where we made some real progress. Today’s goal really should be to get everyone’s first drafts up and ready to be edited to completion, leaving us room tomorrow to edit and do artwork, and finally Sunday to compile everything into our final project.

If anyone needs any help with anything they’re working on, don’t be afraid to ask, after all, we do want this to be the best product possible. So far, we’ve had a few things things submitted which I’ll compile here for easier access, but please do read through them and give any critiques you may have.

I've managed to create a small backstory and overall guest experience for one of the Moria shopping experiences. Do let me know what you guys think of it.

The Mines of Moria - Retail #1
Sanir's Trinkets
(Jewelry Shop) - For Kids and Adults
Backstory
Sanir’s expertise and craftsmanship in spinning treasures into priceless jewelry is unsurpassed. After the dwarves' return to Dwarrowdelf (Moria), she has decided to open her collection of jewels to curious visitors, as well as exhibiting her latest creations. Sanir has also decided to take on new apprentices, and this where you, the guest, come in. Under her watchful eye, you will be able to fashion existing treasures into a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Guest Experience
Guests will be given a scroll depicting the types of jewelry they can make: a necklace, a charm bracelet, or a ring. As soon as they make their selection, they will be escorted into the workshop, where an Audio-Animatronic figure of Sanir will be sitting on her own workstation on an elevated platform, working on her newest creation while interacting with guests and commenting on their work (should they present to her, of course).

Upon arriving on their workstation, guests will be instructed by the shop assistant to personally select which findings and components (gold or silver setting, gems, etc.) they want for their custom jewelry through a “scroll” (cleverly-disguised touch screen embedded on the table). Upon confirmation of their selection, a “small mining cart” will arrive at their workstation carrying their selection (similar to those conveyor-belt restaurants found in Japan). The shop assistant will guide them through the creation/setting of their custom pieces. After the guests are satisfied with their work, they will be given a special jewelry box lined in dark blue velvet fabric where they can place their masterpieces until its next usage.

Those who opt to create rings will be given a slightly different experience. The workstations for the ring-makers will up against the wall of the workshop, where they can see several dwarves forging metals into rings and smithing them through large windows. Same as the other jewelry-making experiences, they will be given a “scroll” where they can select which ring design they would like. They can choose a design similar to the Seven Dwarf-Rings or even the Three Rings. Guests can also customize their design by changing the gem setting and metal used (gold or silver). For safety’s sake, they won’t be able to forge the metal ring itself (we’ll leave that to the dwarves), but they will still be able to set the jewels on it by themselves with the shop assistant guiding them.
We finished our first draft: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gBfen7r1FRaNOwj9zPKYBBuNfeUBkw9AfuMb4GWZbPo/edit?usp=sharing

All feedback is much appreciated. Both this and the Moria ride are essential to get right because we're basing the rest of the land around these big attractions.

In the Parks
No
In lieu of Sanir's Trinkets (which will be transferred over to the Rivendell section, albeit slightly altered to be more aligned with the Elves), The Armoury (yes, with the "u", since LotR is from the UK) will take over its place. The Dwarves' Hoarde will be included in the Moria section as the post-show for the subland's ride. Here is the Armoury's backstory:

"Dwarves are well-known for the strong and durable weapons and pieces of armor made from Mithril, a precious metal mined within the Misty Mountains. The new Armoury inside Dwarrowdelf (Moria) is showcasing their latest creations, as well as replicas of famous Dwarven-made weapons and armor (e.g.: the Baggins’ Mithril Shirt, Angrist, Narsil, etc.). On the mezzanine level of the Armoury, Audio-Animatronic figures of Glangrik, the current Master Dwarven-smith, and his apprentices can be seen, scurrying about their business: some are creating weapons, some are forging metals, etc. Guests will be able to peruse and purchase a selection of the Dwarves’ finest armory (and related LotR apparel, i.e. cotton shirt version of Dwarven armor and the Mithril shirt, Dwarven helmet-hats, etc.) and weaponry (some are factory-made, some can be customized), as well as some other LotR-related trinkets."

I'm still debating the idea of having a guest experience within the shop, since as far as my research goes, Universal isn't really into that (bar the Ollivanders wand ceremony in Diagon Alley, and that happens at random). It was only introduced in Galaxy's Edge with mixed reactions as well. Besides, the Rivendell jewelry shop will already have a guest experience, and personally I think it's a bit difficult to incorporate one with metal forging and silversmithing without making it too technical/boring.

I also have a clear idea of what I want for the Armoury's interiors: a massive portal into the shop (Picture 1), high and vaulted ceilings, intricate green lamps hanging high above the guests' heads (Picture 2), an impressive display of Dwarven weapons and armor (Pictures 3 and 4), chests strewn everywhere duplicating as store display shelves (especially for the swords for purchase), and distressed/reclaimed wood shelves/crates for other merch displays (Pictures 6 to 8). My drawing skills are admittedly meager, so I would appreciate it if someone could help me out on it.

Here's the basic structure of the show so far of The Rise and Fall of The Lord of the Rings:

  1. Thespian introduces the basic beginning of LOTR
  2. Introduction of the Thespian
  3. Invites audience member to play Frodo
  4. Recreation of Frodo and Gandalf discovering the One Ring's Powwer
  5. Formation of Fellowship of the Ring (maybe invite 1 or 2 other audience members)
  6. ???
  7. Gollum (played by thespian possibly a puppet) +Frodo and Samwise
  8. ???
  9. Final battle and one ring destroyed
  10. “Actual” Orc encounter with a battle between Frodo with Sting sword and the Orc
  11. Thespian ends the show, small comedy bit with the Thespian starting to clean up the Orc's mess.
What would the best scenes be for the sections marked with question marks?

I have a few ideas. The thespian can narrate Frodo and company’s journey to destroy the ring in a comedic manner (talks fast and loses train of thought). You can also do something akin to the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular where the Thespian picks a group before the show starts (someone to be Frodo and Sam) and one of the “volunteers” can secretly be an actor who comedically gets “corrupted” by the ring.

I like this, but am worried it might end up retelling the same story as the There and Back Again ride.

Would it be possible to switch the show to retelling the events of the Hobbit instead? It would run very similarly.
  1. Thespian introduces the basic beginning of the Hobbit
  2. Introduction of the Thespian
  3. Invites audience member to play Biblo
  4. Recreation of Bilbo and Gandalf meeting the 13 Dwarves
  5. The Dwarves, Bilbo, and Gandalf set out on a quest.
  6. Three Trolls capture the company, but the Dwarves and Bilbo stall until Gandalf arrives to save them by turning them to stone.
  7. Gollum (played by thespian possibly a puppet) +Bilbo
  8. "Spiders" attack, really puppets, Bilbo fends them off and saves the Dwarves
  9. Smaug "encounter" (only vocal, with screen showing an eye of a tail or something) ends with the Dwarves reclaiming their home.
  10. “Actual” Orc encounter with a battle between Bilbo with Sting sword and the Orc
  11. Thespian ends the show, small comedy bit with the Thespian starting to clean up the Orc's mess.

You could even set it near Bilbo’s house as if this is the legendary Bilbo Baggins himself’s home

Might actually make more sense in-universe considering Bilbo's been telling the story to most of the Hobbits for 50 years, of course someone would've dramatized it by then. Plus its a shorter story and easier to squeeze into a 15 minute show, without condensing it into a bunch of random scenes.

My only concern is that it might not make as much sense to have the show at a festival celebrating the Fall of Sauron, compared to a retelling of LOTR. But I can get around that.
