Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs Favorites

I have FINALLY caught up and can read this thread!!

I can't stand that woman who likes a cross between Sandra Bullock and a man.

THANK YOU. This has been driving me nuts. Any why is it she still has eyeliner on 2 weeks into survivor. Mine never lasts through the day.

Something tells me he's a former quarterback/pitcher in high school and/or college.

I said this to my husband while we were watching the show. He was too poised and meticulous not to have done that on a regular basis.

Brandon is loony. Knew that from last tiem he competed. The girls looked genuinely scared of him at the "on the spot" tribal. All that massaging Jeff was doing was weird. That was definitely one of the more bizarre episodes (meaning Brandon's outsurst!) in Survivor history. Now we can get back to realizing Phillip is missing a few marbles. He seemed darn near normal with Brandon around. Annoying...yes. But not totally nuts.

My first thoughts of new teams:

Eddie, Reynold and Sherri are saved.
Karin is in trouble.
Strength advantage to orange team (Gota???)

New thoughts:

Eddie, Reynold and Sherri are screwed. They're spilling everything. I think Sherri is in a group all by herself right now. The Favorites are still trying to keep their alliances intact, they aren't looking to make new ones.

I was actually kind of surprised Matt was voted out, and I'm kind of sad he was. He was completely honest the entire time. I would've voted Julia, but then again I can see what all of the conversations are and who has the idols and who doesn't.

I like how Cochran (spelling??) is keeping it quiet. He's a force to be reckoned with, IMO.

I was reading the Brandon interview @SAV shared and found this kinda interesting. When the interviewer asks Brandon if he'll ever play the game again, his response is:
Brandon Hantz said:
"Of course. My thing about playing again is I wouldn’t play unless Russell was there. This season, I didn’t know who was going to be out there and I wanted Russell to be out there. Number one, I could beat him. I think as far as challenges, he’s an old man. He can’t hang with me. I can beat him as far as going farther, because even after what I did, he’s still going to be a bigger threat than I am. Which is good for me."

This leads me to wonder if there will ever be a season when Brandon and his Uncle Russell play together. Could you imagine?

Now back to tonight's episode. I too was shocked they voted Matt out. You'd think they'd keep the physical threats on board to help win challenges, especially if they are so worried about the other tribe bonding and holding higher numbers when the merge arrives. I didn't really understand the strategy behind that move.

But, wasn't Brandon all upset about being away from his kids? Now he wants to play again, against family.
A little underhanded it was, but Phillip was right about how Brandon treats family, family that tries to help him.

I'm thinking Matt was whacked because he was a double threat. He had a tight alliance and could be a physical threat. He admitted he was tight with the other guy and was willing to vote Julia. So you break that alliance right up...and quickly. A sneaky good move on their part because all it would take was one person to flop and they would have numbers.

Rather boring episode, but it would be hard to top last weeks. I wish they would have made that initial challenge about the winner gets to pick the camp they want to stay at. Because it sure looks like the Purple camp is better than the orange. That would have added some extra drama to it.

Some great camera work in this episode.

Both Cochrane and Erik are being very quiet and under the radar. Brenda seemed to have her buff over her knee(wrap?) again this episode, but didn't seem to be struggling too much. You can see Phil & Corinne clashing in the near future once they have a large enough difference in numbers, but before the merge...maybe this coming week.

I'm glad they finally had some footage of Corinne in the confessional - she's just as whacky as the rest of them.

Did Brenda have her voicebox removed? She hasn't said 2 words and was SO vocal her first season.

Lucky for the favorites how it worked out they have the majority on both tribes.

I don't think the tribe switch went down how they wanted... both tribes with fan majorities? I wouldn't be surprised to see another swap before merge.

Yep, first week was the already forgotten by most: Francesca. She's really not good at Survivor.
Yeah. Both times on the show she gets voted out first week.

They should have a special edition season where they bring back all the worst players ever. Like, everyone who got voted out first week each season.
