From an entertainment value perspective, Phillip is great fun. Oh, he's loony tunes, no doubt. He's as crazy as Coach, but he's funnier and less pretentious.

I would say the same about Brandon's antics, but lately he's becoming more of a: "I'm a little worried about the guy crazy" rather than just entertaining crazy such as Phillip, Coach, etc.
Phillip also reminds me in a way of Shane from Survivor (Panama?). Does anyone else remember him? He was a grumpy 'ole coot at times, but often he'd be pretty entertaining pulling his stunts around camp and driving the other tribe members bonkers.

Brandon didn't really do anything. The commercials were totally trying to sway interest. I didn't find the challenge that intense either like I did the past two. However, it was an entertaining episode. I think Reynold picks fights with Shamar, though Shamar does need to change his attitude. I think Eddie is just a follower of Reynold. I don't trust Reynold or Shamar. Shamar completely blabbed the plan to the other side. I think Reynold will go deep into the competition, barring a stupid move like giving the Immunity away.
I too felt this week's episode was very underwhelming, and nowhere near as "exciting" and "historic" as all the TV ad's leading up to it had suggested. With the way this episode was promoted, I was expecting some kind of major upset/blindside at tribal...or something that had never happened before on Survivor (which one of the ad's hinted at). But no, we get more of Shamar's anger issues, Brandon making a few Russelesque comments about how he wants to mess up the camp, and that's pretty much it. Yeah, it was kinda neat to see the tribal council force a re-vote due to a tie...but still not really that big of a deal. Not saying it was a bad episode by any means, but shouldn't have been promoted the way it was. Definitely did not live up to the week-long hype.

Agree...very underwhelming episode. The only redeeming factor was the excellent camera work. Some super underwater shots. Other than that, Hottie #2 gone and we still get to see Phil's pink undies.
I'm not liking or understanding Shamar's game at all. He's gonna be a big enough pain that he will be whacked when the numbers get big enough in their favor.

Wow...bad week for the "fans". Shamar goes out with the bad eye and then they lose the challenge and whack Lauren. I like the strategy of not just sticking with the alliance and weaken the tribe overall. And it was a unanimous pick so there won't be much controversy. Oops for playing the idol. Now everyone's back on equal footing.

After last week's disappointment prior to being hyped up for a full week as "one of the most shocking Survivor's yet"...I will wait and see. Hopefully we don't get taken again, and the only thing interesting wasn't shown in tonight's preview.
Though after reading several other discussions, it sounds as though audiences (and marketing execs) are well aware the show messed up last week with their ad campaign. Surely they wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

First time I ever haven't felt bad for a contestant that had to leave due to medical reasons. He would have quit anyways.

Really. Shamar was so ready to quit a week ago, and this week he's crying about not wanting to quit....
I'm interested to see how the whole thing next week between Brandon and Phillip actually plays out.

Brandon seems to be trying too hard to be an antagonist (just like Omarosa on Celebrity Apprentice). I get the impression both have been prodded by the producers to not just be the natural villains they'd likely be, but be over-the-top villains.

Every time I see her I think of Sandra Bullock! She does trust the alliance far too much though. She could be on the chopping block soon. She'd be easy to blindside.

On top of that, I'm interested to see how much Sherri (is that her name? The Sandra Bullock lady?) flips out over the loss of Lauren. Could be a lot of bickering tonight. Looks like it's going to be a good episode!
