Survivor: Cambodia- Second Chance

It's been a season of casual alliances. No dominant alliance, no set alliances. That makes this game much more of a toss-up as to who gets to the end than in previous seasons.

I think Spencer is the only of the remaining contestants to have voted with the majority at all of the post-merge tribal councils. Granted, sometimes an idol was played and the person Spencer voted for was saved. However, Spencer is clearly in tune with what is going on, as is Jeremy. Kelley was a little surprised this week, but she also generally knows which way the wind is blowing.

Kimmi and Tasha have played much better games than they did in their original seasons, but they're second tier to me.

Keith is clueless. Marginally less clueless than his original season, but completely undeserving of his current position (as was Abi, for that matter).

Sorry to double post, but just came across this article in Entertainment Weekly. Probst is really talking the finale up:

"The finale is … phenomenal. Historic. Unpredictable. And ultimately satisfying. I think it will cap off, in grand fashion, what most fans will regard as one of — if not THE greatest season of Survivor."

I think Kimmi is the most improved player out of the remaining players. That's probably just because she played in season 2, a very old school season, but still. I also like Jeremy's improvement, which I think is helped because he doesn't have his wife in the game, even for the little bit she lasted.

Tasha and Spencer are both in much better opportunities to succeed than their last season when they were consistently defying the odds on the bottom. However, I think Spencer has clearly made the bigger leap with his "feelings" and whatnot.

Kelley had little face time in her first season, so it's hard to judge how her style is different. And Keith is doing slightly better, but that might just be because he isn't able to say something that gets his son voted off.

That must mean there are huge plays, and a deserving winner. Please let it be Spencer! While I have a grim feeling for him, I also can see him weaseling his way into the finals, especially if it's an unexpected final four.

The preview hinted at some dramatic moments, and with a good number still in the game there shouldn't be any filler. No "let's go on a walk and try to come up with nice things to say about the others" segment.

I think I'd be okay with any winner other than Keith, but I really can't see him winning any jury vote.

I just saw a commercial for the finale, and they said FOUR amazing Tribal Councils. That would take us down to a final 2. This makes absolutely no sense. Maybe they're going to go into a TC without doing an immunity challenge? Is that the Survivor first? Because they don't have enough time to run all those challenges, along with fitting all the strategic talk and TCs in.

I saw that too. I think it means final three (3 eliminations + final tribal).

Oh, I forgot to count the final Tribal. I wonder what the first is. I'm really baffled now.
It's really confusing and exciting, isn't it :p :DI have a few guesses... Perhaps it's a tie at final tribal council? Or maybe both Kelley and Jeremy play their idols to nullify all of the votes? Both of those I think would be pretty interesting.

A tie would be exciting. What do they even do in that situation? Would person #3 get a final vote to decide? And playing idols to reject all the votes would be quite exciting. How would that impact the game? Would they go to a revote, or just let everyone be safe?

I don't really have any idea how it would work :p
It's a 10 person jury...I feel like somewhere Jeff said that if it's a tie between two people (so 4-4-2), then the jury would revote among the 2 highest vote getters. But in a 5-5-0 situation I don't know. That would be pretty interesting if the third placer votes.
The idols is also a bit tricky. I would guess that they would do a revote, except you can't vote for Jeremy, Kelley, or whoever has immunity.

It's amazing how in 30 previous seasons, neither of these scenarios have played out. Granted, idols and 3-person final TCs haven't always been a thing, but there's still a lot of room for them to happen.

Yeah, I agree it's sort of funny. One stat that I heard not that long ago was that Mike last season was only the first winner that saved himself with an idol, which too I was pretty surprised by.

Also, Vytas has been banned from the Finale tonight because he left the location early and went home to be with his baby boy. It's reported that he also favorited some social media things when he was supposed to be on the island. This was considered to be a breach of contract.
I heard that too. It's a shame really, but I understand why they did it- if they don't follow through with their threat contestants will never listen to them again. But I wish they could just let him go without paying them (each contestant gets $10,000 for showing up to the reunion)

I'm just so excited for the finale tonight! Man, it feels like this season just flew by. I'm going to do a final power rankings, but more in the way of the likely hood to win the show should they make it to final tribal:

1. Jeremy- Played an amazing game. Never was the target, never got s single vote against him. Has an idol, already used another to save someone else. Plus, ya know, being a firefighter and having a pregnant wife always helps.
2. Spencer- Very close second behind Jeremy to win if he makes it. He really took advantage of his second chance and adjusted his game, he was on the bottom several times and worked his way to stay alive, and even managed to be very social with everyone after the merge.
3. Wentworth- While I think she has a bit of a tough road ahead of her to not be targeted before FTC, if she does make it she has a very strong case to make (given second chance after nonexistance in her first time, took advantage of it by finishing two idols, playing strong game often as underdog, solid challenge competitor)
4. Keith- I think Keith has a better chance than we might think. He's won many challenges (and has the potential to win three more), and he's very well liked. That said, he needs to get to the end with the right people.
5. Kimmi- Theoretically in a final three anyone I rank 5 or worse can't win, but Kimmi has a shot if she really owns final tribal council and makes a great case. Other than that I feel like she just didn't necessarily do enough to win (well yet at least). Plus, I don't know if her edit could really support a win.
6. Tasha- I'm sure it might be a bit of a surprise to see her down her, but I feel like she just doesn't seem very well liked by anyone in particular. Plus, her gameplay has really become non existent post merge.

In other news, we got some really good challenges tonight- Survivor posted on Twitter and YouTube that they got the famous Tocantines final challenge and the Redemption Island challenge where Boston Rob infamously "LITTERALLY CARRIED HIS FSMILY ON HIS BACK!" :p

I, like all the others, am super excited for the finale tonight. And I'll get to watch it when it airs for only the second time this season! :joyfull:

My people's chances of winning, should they get to the final Tribal.

1. Spencer - He's really quietly controlled the game in recent weeks, orchestrating several blindsides, most noteworthy I'd say is Stephen. He has really become a better social player, and has avoided several huge targets coming into this game. Not to mention, he avoided going home vote after vote for several weeks pre-merge.

2. Jeremy - He's controlled the majority of the game, pre-merge and post-merge. He's been the leader of the tribe, putting the pieces together that he's needed to set himself up nicely. I put him below Spencer because he hasn't always gotten his way (two votes with Stephen as the majority), plus he found two idols, and the second one could play huge.

3. Kelley - She's been a true underdog most of the game, somehow being the last standing "Witch", even though she's been the biggest threat of them all. If she can use her idol wisely, and put together a good blindside or two, she could have a strong case.

4. Kimmi - I think the level really drops off after Kelley. However, Kimmi put together the Monica blindside early on, and she has been willing to make moves lately. Based on previews, she could make noise in the finale, but I still think it's too late for her unless she gets to the end with the two below her.

5. Keith - He has zero strategic moves, and it will be hard for him to make a case at the end. Even if he had a case, he probably wouldn't be able to articulate it well. That said, he's not last because he has been a challenge threat, and he has been likable.

6. Tasha - She was very disappointing for me this season. She made noise pre-merge with Savage, but I feel like it's just that - with Savage. She latched onto him, and he was the one to put the pieces into place I feel. Post-merge she latched onto Jeremy after Savage left. I feel like she's been riding coattails and is doing a lot more talking than gameplay.
