Aww, poor thing. I know that feeling about glasses. I am counting down the days til I can get Lasik and be done with glasses forever (hopefully).
I'm with you sister. Unfortunately, I just bought a computer with the money I was gonna use for lasik. I'm a huge chicken...so I probably talked myself out of it. Hopefully I want to get it done though. I just hope my eyes will allow for it.

It is definitely a wierd time. So I can relate to that. All my friends left me. It was so hard not knowing when I'd see them again, but we kept in touch through IM...that was good. We definitely weren't as close during that time as we were before, but at least we kept in touch and didn't loose track of one another. Then they all moved back home. So I get to see them a lot now.

Yeah, I'm hoping the miracle of the internet and thins like IM and Facebook will keep us all together. I have a lot of faith. But it's still really weird.

Saying bye to HS friends is very hard sometimes.

Definitely.

((Hugs)) Luke - you may have to wait a little longer, but your future is full of exciting things too.

That's what I'm hoping.

{{hugs}} Luke. I still remember how tough that was.

Thank you :)

I hated saying goodbye after HS. All my friends went to different schools. And now I don't have any friends at college, since I commute.

I'm starting to hate it too. It's happening so suddenly!

I have been asking my eye doctor for a few years now. And he said if my eyes haven't changed after my next eye appointment I am cleared to go for it.

Aww poor girl. I don't ever want to try contacts. I rub my eyes way to much.Did she get those Disney glasses anyways?

Yes, she's needs the glasses regardless, her last set of frames are all out of whack.

Abby reminds me a lot of me when I was her age.

I got contacts around that age. I don't remember having much trouble with it though. Let her know, that it's not going to happen immediately getting them in. Contacts are very hard to do right the first time. Let her know that the more frustrated she gets, the harder it's gonna be. So calm her down when she's frustrated. Take a break and then try again later when she's had time to simmer. It will happen, but it's just gonna take some time.

She takes after her dad on this one. He HATES anything getting near her eyes, and I saw the same kind of fear on her face. She kept rolling her eyes when the lens got close, which of course made it impossible for her to see what she's doing. I could tell her till the end of time it doesn't hurt, but I don't know if she believes me. We're going to work on it a little later I think. I'll demonstrate with my own. I usually don't wear them, because it's easier to just put the glasses on. But it doesn't bother me to wear them.

Contact lenses are hard. And it is scary, esp. if you aren't used to putting things in your eyes. That's probably the weirdest part about it. It will definitely take some getting used to for her.

And I totally understand that you could tell her and tell her and have her not listen, so like I said yesterday...If you think she'd benefit from having a "big sister", I'm here for the challenge.

  Yeah, she won't do that either...we have to do either chewables or fast-melts.

I agree with you Nibbs, she has to get past the weird, touching your eye thing. And I'll mention to her what you said - thanks! Part of the problem is she is not patient, and if she doesn't do it right she wants to give it up. :brick: :brick:

The school nurse told me to open my DD's mouth and take the pill inbetween my fingers and push in down her throat. She gagged but it worked now she takes it on her own. Still gags but it is better than fighting with her for 2 hours before school every morning.:lookaroun
