Did you get a teaching job Reg?

Yup. Got hired last week by a charter school 20 miles away from my house  I will be teaching 6th grade language arts. I never considered teaching in a charter school but they follow the same salary schedule as the district and they offer all the benefits. What got me though was their philosophy that my class is my kingdom and basically as long as I meet the standards, they don't care how I get the kids to learn.

We shall see :lookaroun

Wow - that sounds great! Dave's cousin teaches first grade at a charter school here, but she doesn't have that much "freedom" thanks to NCLB. Good luck with it - sounds perfect for you!

Thanks :)

They told me they're not a traditional school, nor do they want to be. The school is small and they are strict with the kids because it is a school of choice. If the kids screw up, they're out and someone from the waiting list comes in

OMG, the final Harry Potter was just incredible! I haven't seen any series, whether in books, film, or tv, that ended so well. I won't spoil anything but I love how characters and events from every book were tied into this. And the thing I loved that most was how Rowling let you see all these different characters grow up throughout the series and in the end, you feel this overwhelming pride in seeing how far they've gone from little wide-eyed kids. Amazing!

Morning all. I've got a fairly quiet day planned: Assembling the carseat and bouncy seat, and possibly picking up the crib mattress.

Things are coming together! :sohappy:

Good morning! Sounds like a fun day, Bunny - September will be here before you know it! :sohappy: :sohappy:

I managed to stay up till about 9 last night, then went to sleep. Didn't roll out of bed till 8:30  . We are planning to head up to Canton to do some shopping; probably some early school shopping. Hope everyone has a good day!

Morning.

More appointments today and I have to take my grandmother to an appointment (wish me luck that I don't leave her at the hospital :lookaroun ).

And the month is spiraling deeper down into total crap!

Thank you.

I know that everyone has bumps in the road and I can either let it get me down or hold my head high and over come, but I feel it very difficult for me right now.

I just need to kick myself in the behind and wake up. I've been thru worse, and I have been thru better (a lot better), but I have made it thru everything, and I will here. It is just tough to see the light at the end of the tunnel right now.
