Maybe they'll rename it to World FoodcourtI foresee Epcot heading towards a similar fate as the Studios. In 5 - 10 years time it will face an extreme makeover of Future World, but leaving WS as food and drink.

EPCOT is quickly becoming the sum of all closures.
Is this Epcot's version of the MK Hub remake?New entrance plaza and remodelled fountain area (central spine project)
Very true. If that coaster were to open in WDW it would be absolutely panned by critics. But as always, when things open overseas - the grass is always greener and all.
Hey folks,
I was looking at the website you go to after riding Sum of All Thrills that you use your card at http://games.mathmovesu.com/soat.html and noticed something interesting, look at the screen shot, it says the website can be used "until June 30, 2016" is this indirectly telling us something? Food for thought.View attachment 142581
Tom. And Tony.
Baxter...?Tony....?
Baxter...?
Right but why would he have anything to do with Epcot? Didn't he retire years ago?
And it is not even 1 year old. Does anyone know how long the PPG-Glidden contract is on the Colortopia exhibit? Even if it is a couple of years, that means Innoventions East will remain that long and we should see some new exhibits at some point. If The Sum of All Thrills does close soon, they had better have something else near by that can open this summer to pick up the lost guest capacity. What's the future of Innoventions? The only good thing there is Colortopia.
Tony is still active in imagineering he just isn't full time. He's more of a consultant.Right but why would he have anything to do with Epcot? Didn't he retire years ago?
Consulting with Tony was a pretty good way of painting a target on one's back. Not sure how Bob feels about him.Tony is still active in imagineering he just isn't full time. He's more of a consultant.

Yes, but I think Marni meant who has been trying to fix it over the last 10 years. Tony only retired 3 years ago. He has been a big advocate of fixing Imagination (a ride that would've been redone in 2014, but Frozenstrom stole its budget) for a while. Heck, he's retired, and he's still trying to get that ride fixed. I'm sure he's been involved with plenty of other parts of Epcot as well.

Martin-when we purchased the photo tiles, we were told that the plans at that time were to eventually move them to a permanent home elsewhere on property. Do you think they'll follow through with that, and if so, have you heard anything of where that might be?I don't know. The tombstones have limited time left though. And the sponsor I mentioned fell through for various reasons.
I don't I'm afraid.Martin-when we purchased the photo tiles, we were told that the plans at that time were to eventually move them to a permanent home elsewhere on property. Do you think they'll follow through with that, and if so, have you heard anything of where that might be?
We did the same thing and enjoy them when we go. Just don't like the location like most people.Martin-when we purchased the photo tiles, we were told that the plans at that time were to eventually move them to a permanent home elsewhere on property. I agree that they need to be moved; selfishly, I like the nostalgia from the memories of the trip we had that year and have enjoyed re-visiting the tiles. So, just curious if you have any insight into what might happen. Thanks!
Only if it's for the better.Change has gotta come some time!
