Suggestion for Moderate Resorts

I am planning a vist for Mid-October 4 people, 2 adults and two older teen boys.
Last time we stayed at Disney (4 years ago) it was at the CB and we loved it. I would like to stay at a moderate again. What do people suggest POR, POFQ, CS, AKL or back to the CB. Any thoughts would be appriciated.

We've stayed at Coronado a few times and very much liked it.
They have just rehabbed some rooms, too.
Great theming, service, food, pool etc.
Very happy with it.

When you say AKL, I'm assuming Animal Kingdom Lodge? FYI - not a moderate.

You will find that AKL and WL have rooms about the same size as a moderate, and they also have the lowest room costs of the deluxe resorts.

For us, depending on the trip, we either stay at Pop or AKL/WL, we feel that if we are going to spend more to upgrade from a value resort, its worth it to go the little bit extra to get the experience at AKL/WL.

YMMV.

We usually stay at POFQ. We like the location because we can take the boat to Downtown Disney. It is also a small moderate resort. All the buildings are a very short walk to the food court and bus stops. We like to stay in building 5. We ask for a corner room which usually has views of the water and courtyard. It is a very nice and quiet resort. They do have a pool that is themed for kids to have fun in. It even has neat water slide. The buses usually pick you up and take you straight to the park. We have stayed at POFQ and keep coming back. It is our favorite resort, but that is just our opinion. :)

My wife wanted me to look at the AKL even though it is a deluxe. I am impressed with what i see on line at the POFQ. is the AKL or WL worth the extra?
Thanks

Absolutely. They are both beautiful resorts! If you can swing it, I'd definitely pick one of the two. The AKL and is Savannahs are a one of a kind experience. The Wilderness Lodge and it's landscaping and pool is just stunning.

My vote is CB. We have stayed there many times as well as CS. Now that we have younger kids we stay at the POLY b/c of the Monorail and the ease of putting a stroller on it. If you stay at the CB, ask to stay in Jamaica. It is the best b/c you can walk over to Trinidad North in the morning and you are the first to be picked up and at night Jamaica is also the first to be let off. At least this was how the buses ran when we wre there last which was about 5-6 years ago.

I love POFQ. It's quiet and smaller grounds but the resort is beautiful and the rooms are nice. I went when I was 8 months pregnant and they treated me so good. Actually this is one of my favorite resorts out of all the ones I've been to. I've stayed at poly, contemorary, carribean beach, coronando, pop, music, movies, and pofq.

Enjoy your trip!

You can't go wrong with any of those choices. PORS is my favorite moderate resort. AKL is an amazing resort the only problem is that so far away from everything else it can really take awhile to get to the parks. It's not a big deal if you like to go and stay at the park all day but if you want to go back to your room it can really take awhile.

I have stayed at all of the moderate resorts except POFQ. I personally love Coronado Springs, it's very nicely themed and just an all-around great resort! I also love POR but when we go it always seems like one of the most crowded resorts and when you want to get back after a long day it takes a really long time to get a bus so we prefer Coronado.

I also vote for Coronado, unless you strike gold in your back yard and can afford AKL or WL.

Coronado is the most beautiful of the mods, and is the only one with two queen beds instead of two double beds in standard rooms. Its pool area is the nicest of the mods, with the largest hot tub.

I can understand that sentiment, but with a lot of the promos going on recently, AKL and WL are not much more expensive than a moderate:

Standard view at moderate $129 per night
Standard view at AKL $159 per night.

For $30 per night I'd say that AKL or WL would be definately worth it. The ambience and location (of WL at least) can't be beat.

I loved the WL when we stayed there. The cost is a little more than CB when we did that a couple years ago. Was it worth it...ehh...hard to say. With my kids getting older, it was nice to have bunk beds for them to have their own bed instead of having to share one. We stayed in the preferred, I think that is what they call it, at the CB (Martinique) and we did standard view for the WL the year before. The cost difference was about $30 a night, so hard to say if it was worth it. What is $30 a day worth to you to?

What promo is that? The web site now lists $149 as the lowest price at coronado and $240 as the lowest price at AKL.

I'd always go with WL. Unless you're going to spring for the Monorail.

As to the moderates, I prefer CB because I'm just not into southwest theme and Port Orleans over near DTD just doesn't quite feel like I'm at WDW. But then, I'm not a big DTD fan, either. Port Orleans generally gets the best overall reviews of the moderates on these boards.

But if you can afford WL, defintely go there!
