Storybook Circus Discussion

I'm very "MEH" on this whole area. Dont hate it - new renderings do look better. But I would not say this whole circus area really excites me at all.

It does me, because it will help spread out the crowds Dumbo attracts to another area I couldn't care less about and won't step foot in, just like Birthdayland. ;)

As for the number of lands then and now, I just never got that argument. TTF never was a land IMO, so nothing was lost. It would be even less meaningful to the average guest who is not into the details as much as we are here. meh.

Well, it's not really an argument. It was a land, at least originally.

They could kill two birds with stone in this are if they added the concept ride if Mickey's Madhouse dark ride. The area would get an actual ride and the people who want Mickey to have a ride would be happy!

Mickey Dark Ride

I'd much rather see a mickey dark ride on Main street. There's plenty of room next to the new mickey meet and greet in Exposition Hall. If they got rid of the parking lot back there they could put in a show building as large as Small World or Haunted Mansion and they could build the entrance at The end of Center Street.

An embarassing use of the term for marketing purposes. Hoping those gimmicks are in the past.

"Carsland" is a land.

So I don't think any of the artwork has shown this, but what is going in the area between the Barnstormer and the train station, where Donald's boat used to be? The perspective/scale seems off in the artwork and maybe that is throwing me off.

I think the area looks more condensed because in some ways it will be. The new Dumbos will eat up the old street that hugged the Speedway and led to the Teacups. Roughly the 2 Dumbos will extend out roughly toward where the front of Pete's Garage was. Those restrooms were removed to allow for an access road.

I think that tiny tent close to the railroad station that is new (on the site of the demolished Judges tent) will house new restrooms for this area.
This part is speculation - I think the entrance / exit for the Barnstormer may be relocated to the Donald's Boat side of the coaster. I think the 2 Dumbos also eat up a lot of space on that side of the coaster where the ORIGINAL queue used to be.

At one point there was a detailed site plan that showed how the Dumbos fit over top what used to be in TTF. It had a lot of details I am deciphering this information from.

I still wish County Bounty would go back to being some sort of character show like in the Birthdayland days. The old meet and greet tent could be converted to retail. An indoor and air conditioned theater space is pretty much non existent in the MK (where live shows are concerned) and in a wet humid climate like Central Florida that always seemed weird to me. Just look to DL which has MUCH better weather for hosting outdoor theater space. However, they have a huge indoor Broadway style theater inside DCA and a HUGE covered outdoor theater in FL inside DL.

The new restrooms are in the new building in front of the water play area next to and or part of the new train depot.

Did they change the opening music to "The castle leads the entrance way to [six] lands and more"?[/QUO

I was just at the Poly for the weekend and I didn't even think about paying attention to the new audio on the monorail and now I can't go back until Aug. 18. Since I have the seasonals now. Maybe it was to crowded and loud to hear the audio. If we don't get an answer I might just drive out there and take a ride! lol.

I remember the Mickey Mouse Review! It wasn't the most elaborate attraction, but it had tons of charm. I'll never forget Mickey taking his bow at the end, and hearing little kids yell "I love you Mickey!" as the curtain went down. The Mickey AA was really cute, and charmingly small in stature. I hope any new Mickey AAs will be just that size - it was perfect.

No. That lot is used more than for just parking. Ripping it out would would cause major headaches and result in TONS of money being spent to move those services.

True, and if they had wanted a ride in that area they just could have used the Exposition hall building. Hey what about the theater they ripped out in tomorrowland and turned into parking, isnt that still earmarked for expansion some day?

The new concept art is very interesting. Originally, the tents left were supposed to stay where they were and one be a gift shop and the other be a meet n greet. It looks like with the new art, the blue tent gets moved. I think it could stay the meetn greet. The red tent looks like it will stay the same location as well as stay a gift shop. I think the smaller tents will not be any more probably than a snack stand or pin trading location with the water play in front of it!

You are correct about all of that, except that neither existing tent is moving.
