Storybook Circus Discussion

First, you must be 11 years old, because your spelling is uhtroshous.

And then I gathered that your hatred of the Storybook Circus is really your infantile fear and loathing of circuses in general, thereby making your dislike of Disney's attempt biased, irrelevant and moot. Okay, got it. Lame... :ROFLOL:

Come back and post when you turn 15. On second thought, don't even bother then.
No, I think I'll stay right here. How about instead you leave and return when you have learned some manners, you insufferable little brat?

Is there rally a reason for this? Superiority complex maybe?
You should be embarrassed.

maybe they will add some kinda of show to the tents. but i think it would be a real loss if they dont make one of those tents an air conditioned store like the tent was in TTF.i know me and my family loved to shop there and cool off those 101 degree days down there

Of course, the meat of the expansion is new princess rides/restaurants. However, even back when this was first announced I thought that double Dumbo was genius. For anyone who's ever waited in that queue with a little kid, the existence of a second spinner will be appreciated.

The large blue and red tents look to me like they may be connected. If the scale is right. It almost looks like they could easily fit a dark ride in there with a pretty fair sized merch shop at the end of the ride in true Disney fashion. :)

I hope those huge tents aren't just M&Gs and they look much too large to just be gift shops. That and the "mystery" comment makes me wonder if they have one more trick up their sleeve for D23 this August.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but the current tents there I believe are all connected, allowing the merch shop and the M&Gs all to be under "one roof".

I'm really assuming that what is inside the tents are not going to change much, outside of most likely who is in the M&G areas and the theme of the M&Gs themselves.

My only hope for anything would be that new small blue tent in the new concept art. It looks like before in the old concept art it was just a tree in this location, now it's a tent.

While I am not too optimistic in any ride getting put in there (unless they went with a small circular type ride, like a swing or other spinning ride), it's the only place I can imagine they might put an extra ride. Not holding my breath on that one though. My mind goes more to a location to buy water and snacks, like the Toontown Farmers Market used to be.

Don't get too excited about the tents. Three of them already exist today. If you look at the latest construction photos, the yellow tent already exists as a green building that is used for backstage something (Lee told us once but I can't remember). So the only one that's being added is the small blue tent which will just be some pin trading station or a DVC post. LOL.

For me it's really no different than Toontown. I typically avoided it unless I had a child with me.

This. Let's keep in mind what the circus is replacing. The fact that this will move dumbo out of the way is a big step up for FL. Plus it opens up space for the snazzy new stuff, including a *sorely needed* increase in restaurant capacity. Think of it as grease for the wheels of the whole park.

A Mickey's Circus dark ride wouldn't hurt. :animwink:

I am struck by how the artwork makes the area appear much more condensed. Almost as though the new tents are being relocated closer to Dumbo. Or perhaps the artist was not worried about scale too much. If they did move the tents that would open up space backstage for a showbuilding/dark ride. I can't tell if you are hinting at this or just engaging in wishful thinking.

I am relieved they are going with the "traveling circus" backstory. Now I just hope they take that last step and have it be a circus traveling in Europe to tie all of Fantasyland together and create a cohesive backstory. Critical to the magic. Perfectly demonstrated with the new m&g on MSUSA.

Good point and I really doubt storybook circus is going to have a European flair, I think its going to be a straight forward circus them.

I dont understand why they arent keeping Storybook Circus as its own seperate land anyway, its different from Fantasyland and would stand out better on its own just like Toontown Fair did. Plus, it would have been a great marketing opportunity for them to tout it as a brand new land coming to the kingdom, along with the expanded fantasyland.

But instead they clump it all together and go the less exciting route. MK had 7lands so to speak. Main Street, Tomorrowland, Toontown Fair, Fantasyland, Liberty Square, Frontierland, Adventureland. Now its back to 6. So basically its as if MK has never had a new land, when you look at it that way.

It wouldn't need a "european flair: as it is going to be an american circus. So it would not be difficult to create a backstory that depicts it as an american circus traveling in europe. As I have repeated often, I thought they should go with Alice, PH or possibly Neverland but since the circus theme is what they have gone with, giving it a cohesive backstory would help out a lot.

As for the number of lands then and now, I just never got that argument. TTF never was a land IMO, so nothing was lost. It would be even less meaningful to the average guest who is not into the details as much as we are here. meh.

Well true I know no one cares, but was just fun to point out. I still think commercially it would have been a bigger draw to advertise it as a whole new land.

As opposed to other resorts advertising a new land as a whole new park.:drevil::zipit:

Sorry, just couldn't resist a jab at the other resort late on a Friday afternoon. :D
