I think we should wait to judge the area.. I personally am excited for Circusland!! :)

As much as it doesn't sound as great as other ideas, I will wait and see. So many people hate on thinga before it even comes out. It's really ridiculous. I've heard negativity toward the mine train (which I think
Will be a VERY enjoyable ride), i've heard a few rips into Little Mermaid (I also think will be a VERY popular ride), and I heard people rip into new Haunted Mansion queue. How are you going to totally rip into things, before it's even finished? I think too many are just wayyyy too negative toward the place they love so much. I understand concerns, but it's just constant bashing. Pretty funny if you ask me. Give them a chance at least. I know they can't make everyone happy, but I'd say they do a damn good job. Keeps all of us going, doesn't it????

Yes.

Do you think just scrapping the Meet n Greets will pay for a highly themed family coaster?

who said they had to scrap m&g in that area(or that the ride was a coaster) they just said thy need to get rid of those tents.( re them the m&g into something else ) and the plot for a "new ride" is not even in the current MK it is just outside(like space mountain) also i am not saying that what they have is bad just saying the theme is bad (neverland / wonderland would fit better with the fanticiyland forrest)

What I`m saying is the extra expense for adding the Minetrain coaster has to be met from somewhere.

Yes, it is cheap. But this is TDO.

Is the one in the north the space they are clearing above where b&b are going to be on google earth
and are you 100% shore that this is happening and if so how do you know (what is your source)?
and why is this the only areas with a retention pond?
can you move retention ponds?
(im asking so many questions just so i know how much space will be left in mk for future attractions)

You can see the new retention pond behind B&B in these aerial photos:

What are you comparing it to? You haven't seen the plans, and I think they'll put significantly more effort into this mini-land than they did to Birthday Land.

Just because it's not offering new rides and shows doesn't make it a sub-par land. It's sole purpose is to provide a place specifically for little kids to have fun (with their families, of course).

A splash pad, character meet-n-greet, carnival games, mini coaster, dumbo and a fun redesigned train station all make what I believe will be a nice area for the kiddies. I guarantee it will look a lot nicer (and more intentional) than Toontown ever did.

Until we see actual renderings or models (or the real thing), none of us can say it doesn't live up to any certain standard.

Come on! It looks pathetic and clowns really? Doesn't TDO know majority of people fear clowns!?

Oh boo hoo!

I'm starting to understand why Disney doesn't listen to enthusiasts.

Wait till you see the place before you throw your temper tantrum.

I hate clowns too, but can you direct me to where you SAW how pathetic it looks? I guess I must have missed the release of their official Circus Land artist rendering.

Am I missing something here? Why is Circusland being beat down when not a single person that is complaining really knows what it will be like when it is finally complete?

Yes, there is a new pond north of Beauty and the Beast (the dirt area north of the park on Google), and they're significantly enlarging the one across the tracks from the Toontown train station (the mossy green rectangle to the right and up a bit from the station). It's already big, and they're making it huge.

I'm 100% sure. I do this stuff for a living. My sources....aren't important, but others will back me up.

You can move retention ponds, but only after significant amounts of paperwork and filing with the local drainage board. Water management is EXTREMELY important at WDW, hence the miles of canals all over property.

There are retention ponds all over property. Just around the MK, there's one up by the cooling towers, a huge one alongside Space Mountain, a little one north of the Contemporary, and of course, Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake (which collect a significant amount of storm water runoff). Plus the canals and several other ponds and lakes on property.

As for expanding the park, it's pretty much landlocked to the north after this expansion. There will be a nice plot between Space Mountain and the enlarged pond to the east.

People say they could move the pond to the south of Space Mountain, but I strongly disagree.

To the west, they're landlocked unless they relocate all of their backstage facilities. They could get rid of the Rivers of America and free up a huge piece of land in that corner of the park, but I don't foresee that happening. It's more likely that they'd convert Tom Sawyer Island into something more entertaining and accessible.

There is some room to the West. They could also easily move the access road to Main St west side to make some more room behind JC and the tree house.

Don't forget the cast lot behind Main St East side. There could be a lot done with this area, but I doubt management would give up their parking spots for some silly park expansion.

They could have atleast given it a better name. Storybook Circus sounds beyond lame. I mean, it sounds like the title to a crappy PBS kids show.

You are not missing anything.

There is a contingent of posters here who will complain about anything that isn't designed with them in mind. For them, Disney is not allowed to do anything aimed at families with children (ie Disney's target demographic).

Maybe they'll have an old fashioned freak show. Bearded Lady, lobster boy, strong man, sword swallower, etc.

It beats Prince Charming Regal Carousel (which already had a perfectly servicable name) and Carsland (which should be called Route 66, or Radiator Springs, or, frankly, anything else).

Plus, the nod to StorybookLand is at least a little nostalgic. I would prefer actually getting StorybookLand instead.

I guess someone at the naming department needs to be fired.
