For some reason I thought this was taking the place of SGE. Didnt realize Stitch was such a valuable character that he warrents two "attractions" in Tomorrowland.....

No, the demolition of Horizons in plain, elevated view.

Wow... that really takes me back. My ten year anniversary of being a Disney fanboy is coming up.

This all started with a closed Horizons and markings on skyway polls in Jan-Feb 1999.

WOW!!! Crazy.... but Martin, I don't think the actual demoliton started until my birthday, either April 20, 2001 or 2000. check the news pages from then, but I think that was when the Space presser was held.

This takes me back, we've come so far from the Disneyforce.uk days!!

2 years ago he was the most popular character in merchandise. i assume it's still the same.

Perhaps if this show is successful it will cause people to notice the CoP building rotating every so often and allow crowds to drift over to ride the CoP :D

I don't know...construction sites have always been visible from up high. An example would be construction at Epcot that has always been visible from the monorail. I consider bad show when you can see something from the ground. For example, painting the castle during the day (as was done recently) is bad show. Merely having a construction site visible isn't, in my opinion. You can't hide everything...

I've seen plenty of construction from up high, but this going on 10 feet below the track you're riding on, exactly in the direction you can be expected to be looking (a wall on the other side of the track). It looked...ugly. Not that it ruined the day, or even the ride. It was just a bit shocking.

I know this was bad show... but to me.. it was pretty intriguing to watch (sorry if that sounds a bit morbid to you Horizons fanbois).

It just found it interesting how they just sort of folded up the building towards the center.

Uh, the theater isn't being affected by this (at least not that I know of). The construction is over by the old Skyway building, next to the restrooms, not anywhere close to the Galaxy Palace Theater.

In one sense, this finally puts something over in that dead expanse of concrete between SM and CoP in Tomorrowland. Guess I can "celebrate" that fact a little bit.
Oh. My mistake.

It`s the only way they could; the building resented the new wave of management and their plans. All FW core buildings, like other parks, are designed to withstand tornados (I won`t say an F5 will leave it unscathed) and as such are designated storm shelters. Horizons had more steel in the buildings structure than SSE.

Ya learn somethin' new everyday.

P.S. It kind of looks like that rising stage in DL... are we finally getting one?!? I mean, how many stages need you to dig into the ground to build? This has been the Auto - Rumor bot of WDW.

The pictures certainly are interesting... but I'm more interested in finding out what the show will be all about! My kids do like Stitch (yes, kids do like Stitch for all you "haters" out there) so I'm hoping this will be a cute ("cute" as compared to SGE) addition!

Does anybody know when the show is suppose to open?
