Two sets of racecar sims under a Turtle Trek-esque dome whe both current theaters are. Both preshows turned into queue. 3D glasses were involved in the longest held version. The plan went from VR->3D->2D->Dead

I thought so. That plan always seemed more ambitious to me. I'm guessing that's why it died. As another user mentioned it didn't help that Simpsons, Minions and even Jimmy's ride at Universal got there first. I think 3D glass tech has run it's course; it's old hat now. Sims are a dime a dozen. Of the concepts mentioned; I'd actually prefer a 2D show. But not with SugarRush/WIR.

'Probably for the best. Hope something better comes along.

Still probably due to what Disney saw when Universal showed concept art of Mario Kart...It put Sugar Rush to shame..

I can’t think of an IP that fits, if it is to be an IP....other than more Guardians. Doubt they’d want to further blur the lines between Tomorrowland and Future World though,

I can't think of a ride system that fits. Which means people around here are going to be really negative when it turns out to be some form of theater (which is what it is now) with special FX, like a simulator or flying theater.

If WDW wants to be ambitious, they can gut the entire building including the restaurant, gift shops, and icecream shop for a ride system and then beef up Tommorowland Terrace to pick up the food slack.

If it's going to remain a 'theater', then I would make it a planetarium show by Ludwig Von Drake which starts out like a normal planetarium show but then we find out that his idea of a planetarium is to make it into a rocket that launches us into space and the show on the dome is really a fun animated adventure full of IPs that Disney execs crave. A PhilharMagic of the stars, as it were.

Yes
It would be great if they could make it something similar to the old 'Mission to Mars' but using better special effects and maybe exploring further into the universe than just Mars?

That's assuming they care.

Wow. That’s an old plan! Mission to Mars era, despite the added rocks.

Also looks like one of Ed’s.

I've decided that the Peoplemover audio is The New Enemy. Last time I was in the MK I was looking for a place to sit and chill. The open area between Buzz and Space Mountain looked great. Except for the loud dance party. Move away from that and you get that loud Peoplemover audio saying the same thing over and over and over again. Move away from that and you have clinky clanky electronic music of the land, because, you know, in the future, everyone listens to buzzing, clinking, shrill sine waves for music.

And then I realized why that area in Tomorrowland was empty.
plot twist, these waves are a brainwashing system. Designed so you never forget to pass thru the Emporium to get your 35350th mug of Mickey.

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing SGE become a new Dreamfinder-Figment show based off the comic series. With the failed bluesky concept of a new 4D Imagination! show taking over the Captain EO showspace in Epcot; WDI could rework the 4D Imagination concept into the Stitch building.

In my mind this idea has merit: 1) If you were to take these characters at face value (a Steampunk Tesla-like scientist and a Dragon) then there would be no better place to put them! Situated between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland this IP could bridge the gap between the two lands similar to how Sugar Rush/WIR racers was original conceived. 2) If a 4D show was planned chances are good that many of the 4D effects such as fog, smells, bubbles could be carried over with WDI essentially swapping one theater for another. 3) Figment in Fantasyland... that's big deal. Pretty sure Disney has been itching to close Journey into Imagination with Figment but sees the value in keeping the IP. I say close Journey and bring Dreamfinder and Figment to MK.

I'm guessing either Wreck it Ralph or Big Hero 6 may go here. Or maybe even one of the Marvel properties Universal doesn't have that isn't Guardians. Maybe Ant Man?

I would definitely be down for something like this if I wasn’t of the opinion that “Figment only belongs in Epcot”. Gimme a Figment AA of the likes of Olaf and I’m on board with whatever.

What is Stitch's hourly throughput? (at full capacity) About 1400 guests? Or is it half that? x2 theaters.

That's not great but not bad either. It beats a closed attraction forcing more guests to wander and funnel into queues causing longer wait-times. Overcrowding is MK's problem only further exacerbated by low ride capacity. Well that and shuttered attractions. With Tomorrowland gaining a new coaster, throughput isn't so much a concern. A theater sitting empty is the bigger issue here, IMO.

The thought of opening up Stitch as a bridge between lands was a great idea. It would disperse foot traffic; a notion I hope will again be explored with Stitch's replacement. I hope the building doesn't sit empty for years.

If this was an original concept introducing Stitch as a park only character I would have looked at this at a different perspective..... However, since it's a prequel to the film and not Landing in Hawaii but in Florida instead for some odd reason I can see why there is a bit of confusement in why this is like this.
